Have you guys heard about this? It sounds like it's gonna be big. Getting their name out, for sure.

Massive street party to celebrate the opening of Elite, Pulse Management, and X Sports at Market Station.

Following the meteoric success of now super model and Utah native Ali Stephens, management agencies Elite, Pulse and X-Sport are opening an office at the $500 MM Market Station development in SoSaLa... South Salt Lake, Utah. According to Neal Hamil, Elite's Director of North America, "I chose Salt Lake City for Elite's first scouting office because there is something magical about the region... something undeniable about the region as producing phenomenal beauties." Elite is partnering with Pulse Management which discovered Stephens in the Salt Lake area.

To celebrate the opening, a casting call for "Utah's Next Top Model" will be held at 5:00 PM at 2150 South Main Friday May 30th and a street party, kicked off at 7:00 PM by a base-jumper landing from a helicopter at the same address, Saturday May 31st. All events are open to the public. Tickets for the Saturday events are $6.00 at 24tix.com or $12 at the door. There is no charge for Friday evening's casting call.

Saturday evening highlights will feature the naming of "Utah's Next Top Model," a Half-pipe demo with the X-Sport Team including Randy Marino and a block party with headlining Dj Miss Lisa and touring breakbeat talent DiggaBeatz. Pre-event and event interviews are available by request only with High School Musical Director Jeff Johnson, Ali Stephens, Randy Marino, Neal Hamil, Pulse Management founder and leading modeling scout and agent Stacey Eastman, renowned ski and snowboard photographer Scott Markewitz, and Steve Aste, developer of the $500MM Market Station project.

May 31st is a Sunday. Either they have their dates wrong, or that is from last year.

I was thinking that too. I think they did mean Friday and Saturday the 29th and 30th. This sounds really cool. I might go.

There are two different designs made with 1000 container boxes.

Which do you guys like. I prefer the second one.

Stalled projects: Midvale

#2 definitely. It interacts with the street a LOT better than the first.

Oh please let it be the second that is chosen as the design! I think the first is ugly and tacky. That design would work if it wasn't right next to the traditional Hamlet Homes condos. The design would be like when I wear my Hawaiian shirt with my old plaid shorts... and black socks (of course just around the house)!!!

The second design is attractive.

I think the older design is much more attractive but I would still like to see the newest design worked in somewhere. Isn't Birkhill @ Fireclay a pretty big development? I don't see why they can't do both

I agree with Tangled, I would like to see a mixture of both the old design and the new design. The old designed, while I liked it, seemed to much of the same thing over and over, combining it with the new design would create a couple of nice neighborhoods within the neighborhood. As for the two designs above, #2 is much more attractive, #1 looks like something that would have been built in Cold War Soviet Union.

I prefer design #1. While there are things I like about the second one, (more windows facing the street?), I find the curved "ribbon" balconies to be really tacky and they will become dated quickly.

I also like that the first design has a private, central courtyard, rather than the common space to the side of the bldg.

I love that they're planning to build a shipping container project there. I've been contemplating building a shipping container house myself.

On 1000 East and about 1200 South in SLC some guy has a shipping container in his driveway that he has retrofitted into a living space. I think it is primarily a "model home"

Yeah..Yeah!!!
I posted awhile back my kid-sis an her roommate live in the current 4-story building at Burkhill.The only building built in this mega TOD.She tells me only about 20 people live there right now!! Few of the store fronts at street level are even occupied.Doubt we'll see any of those renderings come to life soon.I would how ever like to see #2 built, just it will anytime soon............lakecity4life...BAMMZ
