I don't know if I can wade through the hundreds of messages on here to find the answer to this question, so I'll ask: does anyone know what the Canada Line's operating hours will be?

Hopefully that will be a secure park and ride, with something like a drivers license scan to get in and out in order to prevent the crackheads from getting in there.

I don't know if it's the time of year, but there is a decided lack of green in that photograph.

Exactly, not every square inch of the city can be a tower in the park .

You can see Wall Centre Richmond in the upper left corner too.

Industrial zone? Are they going to rezone that area, or densify? From that picture, it really seems like Richmond could do a lot more to densify the city.

you might get some short stub office buildings as tall as River Rock and a few casino/hotel expansions, but nothing more than that considering it's right under the YVR approach.

well only a portion of what you see is the park n ride

most of it is for the casino which doesn't have enough parking now and its the only park n ride of its type along the lines - the two old lines have one or two surface lots that are useless

This goes to show the shortsighted thinking of Translink. They should have built a station at either end of the park & ride.

And remember that the casino already has a large multi-storey parkade to the west of the hotel.

So hopefully it won't be residential - that would just be asking for trouble....

What should also happen is a car drop-off pick-up loop at Brighouse/Richmond Centre. Lots of people get picked-up at the Staples parking lot on No.3 as its the teminus for alot of Richmond destination bus routes.

I envision that park and ride filling up rapidly. There are also going to be the times when events are going on at the River Rock, and they'll borrow the PnR parking lot since its

A) closer
B) The old parking lot was often nearing capacity during weekends/events.

If this were in the US, the residents of the towers under the YVR flightpath would be suing the City of Richmond for allowing the zoning to proceed, which caused great emotional harm.

It's seven story parkade with 1,200 parking stalls committed to SkyTrain park and ride. Second largest park and ride in the region (after Scott Road on the Expo Line).
