I really enjoy these mid-level view of chicago.....we always get the Sears and Hancock views....which in my opinion because of their extreme height in some ways make chicago look smaller than it is....this is especially the case with sears I think....I mean when you are several hundred feet above the 700 and 800 ft building that are your neighbors it makes even these large building look small

This building is going to be going in the completed column more than likely before the end of the month. There's only a piece or 2 of metal to put into place, and landscaping which doesn't really count.

And it does appear to be fading, doesn't it? Definitely good news there.

Has anyone noticed the improvements they have been making to the crown lighting? On the top floor or two, you'll notice a different pattern on the cladding. It appears that that area will in fact be back-lit. You can see the area I'm talking about in this pic from jc:

I have blond hair, and I'd never wear a suit that cheap. Kidding. I had the opportunity to visit 300 NLS earlier this week. The views are stellar. I plan on taking/posting some pictures of the SOM-designed interiors once I receive clearance from our firm administrator and my contact at SOM. All in due time.

Thanks, george. Yes, that garish precast needs to weather--quickly. The contrast with the old stone of the bridge towers and surrounding Riverwalk material is quite jarring and unpleasant. At least they had the sense to employ the material in a "contemporary" (read: boring and prosaic) design scheme; a pretentious redux of classic shapes with that material would have pushed it from bad to really bad and would have been all the more thoughtless.
