OLG at Eastgate has closed down their booths. I was also told that there won't be any OLG booths at any mall anymore. The only place at Eastgate that checks the 649 tickets is at Fortinos only. Shoppers still can check scratch and win tickets only.
The one in the Home Depot on Centennial has also closed.

This isn't an OLG move - the company that operates lottery kiosks locations (Infoplace?) has filed for bankruptcy and has shut down their kiosks. It'll be interesting to see how OLG handles this though, seeing that 130 or so of these kiosk outlets are no longer selling any of their product.

On a slightly unrelated matter, I hear that OLG will be dropping the Super 7 lottery come September. Apparantly not enough people are playing (likely because the odds and payouts are terrible with this game)

No kidding, I'm sure this hurt their sales. There were always lineups at the Eastgate booths.

I never played this or 649. I hardly even won more then $10 and a ton of free tickets.
Every so often I play pick 3, and last year and I played it for 3 weeks, 2 numbers and the encore and I won $775.

Their Corporate parent went bankrupt (again) at the end of 2007, http://www.thespec.com/article/281508

Probably part of their ongoing re-organization.

Saw The Derby had construction fence (blue rental fence) up around it the other week. Perhaps some demolition and construction will start this spring.

The Speedy on Parkdale was closed for a while, then re-opened but wasn't open very long though. Sad seeing the city become a ghost town...again like other recessions.

Yah, the sign for the Speedy along Wentworth was also taken down (it was a giant sign sitting on the side of a building facing East) but I don't think the garage closed yet.

Also there's demolition equipment at the Derby since yesterday or they day before. Any day now...

Wow, that really sucks. I never went there but the old warehouse they're in is absolutely gorgeous.

This is to be Rexall's new home for Herbie's. Not sure whether it'll remain a Herbies or take on the PharmaPlus format in its new home.

Too bad about Hobo Hardware. When I was photographing the Keith area, I thought to myself, "it's great that this old factory has a tenant." Hopefully somebody finds something to do with the building, it's a real beauty.
