Those last two Monteral shots have been post processed to the nines...
Too much HDR and over saturation for my likings.

Looks like a cartoon.

No, those pics have been taken on March 12 2009...

They have only been taken at the same exact place by the exact same person.

Grrrreat shots! The first and second are from 2 slightly different places. Look at the gap between PVM and Le 1000 in the first shot.

What's it used for?

It's an observation tower with a revolving restaurant. Considering it was built in the '60s I don't think it's holding up so bad. Also, none of Calgary's skyscrapers currently has an observation deck so the Calgary Tower has the only observation deck in town, and the views are terrific.

Because you are taking it at an angle to the street grid so there are no gaps in the skyline?
