Snow has stopped in Central City, but we still got a sizable dump of snow and now all the trees are nicely outlined in white. Very pretty. Doesn't mean I have to like the snow, though

I lived in Regina and Edmonton before, the prairie is too cold to have a huge snow flakes like ours.

Snowfall warning for
Metro Vancouver issued

5 to 10 cm of snow this morning.

This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A localized area of low pressure that developed early this morning over the south coast continues to wrap bands of snow over metro Vancouver. General snowfall amounts of 5 cm with higher local amounts to 10 are expected before the system pushes to the south later this morning.

An Arctic ridge of high pressure building over Yukon and northern British Columbia will produce strong outflow winds through coastal valleys and inlets. The strong outflow winds in combination with the cold temperatures will produce wind chill values near minus 20 degrees over the inland sections of the north and central coasts today and tonight. Winds are expected to abate tomorrow morning.

This happened last year, as I recall. One minor snowfall late in the spring.

I still don't like it, though

Snowfall warning for
Metro Vancouver issued

Local snowfall amounts of 4 to 8 cm expected tonight through Sunday morning over higher terrain.

This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A frontal system currently over British Columbia coast will usher cooler air to the south coast tonight. Meanwhile an intense pacific low pressure system will develop just west of Vancouver Island overnight. The moisture from the low in combination with the cold air will produce snow at higher elevations over most of the south coast and southern Vancouver Island. Snowfall amounts of 4 to 8 cm are expected over higher elevation areas of metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley tonight through Sunday morning. The snow is expected to change to rain later Sunday morning as the temperature rises.
