Something for Hamilton?

It would be nice to see something like this in Hamilton,
http://www.yahoo.com/s/1039784. I think it would be a good idea for both King and Barton Streets.

With the warmer weather I've been walking home on a few nights, and have seen first hand how King Street east of the IV continues to fall into the abyss. Besides the 2 prostitutes at 7:30pm on the street last night (up from 1 last Wednesday night at 7pm), I see the variety stores are now closing.

J.J. Variety the one with all the nice flowers in the summer along the roadway closed a few weeks back, and the Big Bee at King and Emerald is now gone as well.

How long before the few good things on that street, i.e. The Greek Pastry shop, Newmans, etc. go as well?

Quite the sad state of affairs along King Street East.

I remember in the early 80's recession that JS was so empty, and along King, Main and Barton more in the downtown areas. So looks like a repeat.

That's a great idea. Wasn't the space that now has "All Dolled Up" in it on King East (along a busier stretch) also used to house signs for the Bay and other companies as well while the building was vacant? Similar idea/different application. (Kind of like that creepy building advertising Knight's Beach with the stuffed animals in the chairs...)

Another idea is rent stores out cheaper to sell their junk or art, or crafts etc at. And per say they get to keep a certain percentage of every sale. Even if the sellers had to share the same store would be even better. This way a bunch of people could split the rental cost.
