I never noticed that building in the reports before. It certainly does look like a very good idea though.

On that note the curved building in the back of it is currently under construction I believe.

From what I know the building in back has been complete for about 3-5 years.

I walked by this tonight. There are actually two pieces missing;

There's the mixed-use building missing and the 4 townhouses are missing as well. Right now I believe where the four townhouses are planned is an empty lot and where the mixed-use building is planned is two occupied apartment (might be single family houses) buildings right now.

EDIT: I looked up the Gladstone report and the new mixed-use building is supposed to have "44 apartments and 10'000sq feet of ground floor commercial with 26 underground parking spaces.

I was by this tonight. The building is half way done the fourth floor on the highway side (parking level exposed I guess).

It's quite the big building.

I was driving past the TD building on Barrington the other day and noticed that several of the glass panels had been replaced with new ones that don't match. I'm not sure if the building owner is doing this on purpose, hoping to end up with a building like this:



... which would look pretty cool, I'd have to say. Or is it just a matter of being too cheap to find glass that matches the old panels? Any thoughts?

I was down Gottigen earlier and aside from Falkland and Theatre Lofts I noticed one more lot with a sign on it down past the MacKay Bridge (up around Almon Street). Does anyone know what the sign is for?

I saw that and it appears to be for something new on Barrington Street. It's a sales office. The rendering up on the office looks like the typical crap residential development we've seen on the fringes of barrington.

It's the sales office for that development adjacent to Mulgrave Park... "The Barrington", I think?

It was built a few years ago and I agree that it's ugly. Unfortunately, the quality of new development in most of the northern part of the city is very low... and, of course, there was no construction whatsoever in areas like Gottingen.

That development is pretty bad, but not as bad as those large, vinyl-clad, apartments that look like houses that prevade the area.

Does anybody know what the deal is with the lot across from Spice (SW corner of Barrington and Cornwallis)? It looks ripe for a nice development, something 12-15 stories would be great.

That lot is owned by HRM. It's about 20,000 square feet in size.

I've been on Barrington St a couple of times recently and it looks like the sign is for a development on Barrington just north of Younge St. I think there is an auto repair shop on the lot right now.

From what I could see on the sign it looked about five or six stories high and includes ground-floor retail of some sort.
