Now that oil is cheap .. lets build as much airport as possible before it shoots up to over $200/barrel in a year or two!

Oil is not very likely to rise above $100 a barrel for the next two years, let alone to $200 or more.

Actually I think its kinda smart as oil goes up Airlines will look for other ways to save money. heck that might even mean some airlines looking for Cheaper airports to fly into to cut costs on that side of things.

Just a thought.

Just as a side not there is more cargo coming into YHM then even before. More aircraft as well as larger aircraft both Cargojet and Kelowna Flightcraft have purcased wide body aircraft. 2 767 and a 757 for cargo jet and 2 DC-10s for Kelowna Flightcraft. Also UPS is using a larger DC-8 over th 757 and they week there have been 2 Atlas Air 747s into the airport and last friday an IL-76 which is quite large was in the airport loading up. Just though I would pass along this infomation.

I have 2 questions. 1st was this the only 747-400 F to vist CYHM and 2nd do you think we will see any more 747's during the holidays

Dave I don't know if this is the first 747-400F or not definalty not the first 747 though Atlas as well as a few other airline have brought the 747 in before. This one that smae is was actually a 747-400 BCF which is like a passenger 747-400 thats been converted to a freighter basically its a 747-400f but it still has the long top. As far as your second question goes yes, There was actually a 3rd flight today that came from Amsterdam.

ive been watching these flight the past week and they have been coming from differant airports each time.

Im hoping someone might know what is going on and if these flight are going to continue.

Anyway 3 747s in one week. I think this is a first for yhm that I know off. Its interesting that its happeing when the economy is going to poop.

Theres speculation over on PPRUNE Flyglobespan are planning on using one of there 767's to YHM next year as they are to get another 1 delivered taking the total of 767's in there fleet to 4.

A couple of updates on passenger service. First off, Sunwing's sun destinations will not happen this year as planned. Apparently the strike at Boeing has delayed delivery of planes, so Sunwing didn't have room in its fleet for the 08/09 season. They still hope to have the service in place for Winter 2009. Also, flyglobespan ahs dropped the weekly Cardiff flight from their Summer 2008 schedule for YHM.

Every year oil production is dropping by 7% globally. The whole airport development should be "interesting" in just 4 short years when production is over 25% less than it is today!

oil production has no play in these changes. It is strictly a lack of fleet resources. BTW, where are you sourcing the 7% annual drop in production levels number?

It looks like Flyglobespan maybe getting rid of their only 757-200. They are getting a 4th B767-300, a bigger plan. It maybe to many seat for Cardiff. Good for Hamilton as they will have about 100 more seats per flight for sale.

Not sure steeltown if you are thinking Flyglobespan or not but they aren't the same company. Flyglobespan as Scotland Based where this globespan company is Kingston Ontario base. regardless its still good news. Just don't know if it will have any influence at our airport although I would be nice.
