It has been said that the Canada Line's Richmond terminus has been designed in a way that allows it to be extendable southward. Of course, there are no plans to do so.
The original plans for that terminus was to have a station at Westminster Hwy and another closer to City Hall and Richmond Centre. But they didn't have enough money, so it was cut (and for good reason too, too many stations there - would have been overkill...people can't walk a block?). So instead, Lansdowne Station was moved a little south closer to Westminster and Westminster Station was canceled and City Hall Station was moved northward to serve the Westminster Hwy/Richmond Centre/City Hall precinct.
