The point is... the power rail is on the side. Anything under the rail, or under the guideway is just a pipe probably full of wires leading to the actual power transmission. End of discussion.

^ That's where the dual-track merges into a single-track at Lansdowne Road. There was no space to put the walkway down the middle because of the track switches, so they put it along the side over that short stretch.

Still, quite ridiculously picky to complain about that...

I don't complain about it anymore...so that thing is for the emergency walkway?

By the way, are there any plans to extend Canada Line. You know how it stops at the City Hall in Richmond?

That last page of "discussion" seemed extremely pointless to clear up that small complaint. Perhaps avoid the multiple posts that all sound exactly the same in the future? I felt like I was déjà vu-ing every time I scrolled down.

It has been said that the Canada Line's Richmond terminus has been designed in a way that allows it to be extendable southward. Of course, there are no plans to do so.

The original plans for that terminus was to have a station at Westminster Hwy and another closer to City Hall and Richmond Centre. But they didn't have enough money, so it was cut (and for good reason too, too many stations there - would have been overkill...people can't walk a block?). So instead, Lansdowne Station was moved a little south closer to Westminster and Westminster Station was canceled and City Hall Station was moved northward to serve the Westminster Hwy/Richmond Centre/City Hall precinct.

Yeah...I've heard about that too. I know that it was going to the "City Hall" but then it is, like you said, way too close to the previous station.

That would be interesting to find out how many there are. There are no pocket tracks to store extra trains anywhere along the line. I guess it's a good thing that the Operations and maintenance is kind of in the middle of the line.

I know there is a cross-over at Waterfront Station, but are there any others in the Vancouver tunnel section?

There's one north of 41st as well - the part that was left open as an access point for a long time. From Tafryn's website:

I wonder whether the other access point south of King Edward would also have a cross-over as well - but that is very close to the one at 41st (without an intervening station (not yet anyways)).

BTW - I think that the gangway is bolted to the exterior of the guideway whenever there is a switch in the guideway. That's because there's no space between the tracks for the gangway because the switch occupies that space. You can see that on the Millennium Line too.

Drove past 49th Ave Station the other day - there's a glass pavillion for an emergency exit in the Cambie Blvd median.
Oakridge will probably have one too on the "far" side of the tracks (i.e. east side of Cambie).
