Hopefully Im not wrong in asking this but could Trump buy this project, is there even the slightlest possibility that he could*? He has more than one tower in NY, so, could it work in Chicago? Just make it into a hotel only or with condos?
he is a lick away from defaulting on his own tower! so I would think no.
I am just curious why the crane is still there? I mean all others have gotten their stuff, strange that the crane contractor didnt get his crane back or can´t they remove it at that stage?
In order for that crane to come off the site, Adjustable Forms would have to build up 3 more floors in order to disassemble it, drop it, and conventionally remove it. That obviously ain't gonna happen at this stage. We are talking big money to get it out of there.

I always stare at those pictures and wonder what floor we'd be on if it hadn't all gone to 🞵🞵🞵🞵. I suppose I could go do the math, but I'm just pining for what if.

It was an open grade parking lot before construction started. I think you can picture in your mind what that looks like. Prior to that there was an non-descript building on the property(for 40 years or so?).
You can see the building in this historic photo which is the building just above the gap in the open bridge.
What a great find. I didnt realize that there was a building on that lot at any time. I think that this photo is about 50 years old because there is no Marina tower or Chicago Suntimes building.

From the other direction circa 1930. You can see the building just to the other side of the LaSalle-Wacker building. This is a pretty famous archival picture...
