They're both nice spots. I'm not sure why something like "WV is right on Chicago's second waterfront" would be a selling point compared to the Spire. Or "public transportation"- if I live in somewhere like Waterview or the Spire I think I can spring for a cab to where I need to go or to Union Station or something.

WV's location is better to me, but only because a building out by itself isn't my style. It's not an objective thing by any means.

Thanks Dan, that's the one I was thinking of and I completely forgot about the one on grand. And Lucas, The Chicago river might not have the same appeal as lake Michicgan but it does have some appeal and once the River walk is completed it's only going to get better. Plus the Spire and WV are on different levels and have different locations which comes with certains pros and cons so lets get back to the WV.

Hey guys - Just thought I would let you all know that I have asked for a return of my deposit for my Waterview unit. It was a very difficult decision, but my patience just wore too thin. If the project ever gets going I may buy back in (hopefully I can get my original purchase price). I will still be following the development very closely, I just love this building and location.

sorry to hear that. it had seemed from your previous posts that you were in this for the long haul, but after a while, i can understand your frustration.

i'm curious as to how many people are in a similar situation as yourself, and if there have been a lot of people asking for their deposits back.

just thought I'd chime in and say we're very frustrated and not a little annoyed with Teng for not getting the financing earlier--especially as we see so many other buildings rising up that started out after WV--but we are still hanging on for the time being simply because I don't see anything comparable at the price we got.
I agree that that section of the north end of the financial district doesn't exactly have a residential feel, but having lived just across the river for several years, I am really attached to the area and can't imagine living elsewhere --everything you could want is within walking distance. Museum Park has the feeling of a residential ghetto; even though the tower on Roosevelt has spectacular permanently unobstructed views and Michigan ave. is just a block away, it still feels isolated --I prefer feeling in the heart of things in our wonderful city.
So we're continuing to hope we'll see this building gleaming on the river before we croak!

Attorney

Does anyone know of a good attorney? I would like to get my 10% deposit on this building.

The attorney that helped with your unit purchase and review of documents is no help?

Thanks Chi-arch. I hope I don't regret my decision to pull out, but only time will tell. Jaguar, I left you a private message.

The guy that just kept his view in the building to the right must be pleased....as for the rest, Im not sure staring into an empty building at night feels safe.

the building on the right is the lasalle-wacker building and it is all commercial office space, so there's no one in the building at night except for the janitors.

Question

Hopefully Im not wrong in asking this but could Trump buy this project, is there even the slightlest possibility that he could*? He has more than one tower in NY, so, could it work in Chicago? Just make it into a hotel only or with condos?
