Huntsville people are delusional, Chattanooga and Franklin (or any city or suburb in the Nashville vicinity) is a much more exciting place for a young person than Huntsville any day. Chattanooga at least has a pretty nice interesting downtown.

I agree! I mean I have alot of friends here and everything and they have kinda come to the point of moving also. I actually HAVE to move b/c of my wifes job,so its not really a choice to move. I really like Huntsville alot,but i guess i have been here to long and everything is gettin old to me. I mean me and my wife have gone to Bridge Street like every other weekend for the past 2 months!LOL But I really like Chatt and the franklin/brentwood area also.
Guess its just time for a change for me!

I was in Huntsville last week and the town looks great. I am always impressed with how well the landscaping is maintained along 565.

Chatty is on the move,(VW) and their downtown is a model for everyone. Huntsville has copied many plans after their success but it is taking longer. Nooga has the Tenn. River downtown which is a huge advantage. For whatever reason investors are slow to bring projects downtown (HSV) but if it will ever break lose good things will happpen.

I have to agree about the delusional part, except I think I'd include the entire state of Alabama, not just Huntsville... I'm not sure how some people here can say Huntsville even comes close to the quality of life that the Nashville Metro has to offer the under 40 crowd...whether it's sporting events, night life, entertainment, shopping, performing arts, museums, etc... The same can be said for Chattanooga with a nice downtown on the river, lot's of activities, plenty of green space, and rich in history.

Anyways jonnie256, I hope you and your wife enjoy the move to either city...both will be a nice change of pace from Huntsville.

The Station, a 28,000-square-foot family entertainment center, is scheduled to open in early next summer at Bridge Street Town Centre in Huntsville.

Beverly Hills, Calif.-based O&S Holdings LLC, the developer of Bridge Street, announced it has executed a lease for the center, which will have a full-service restaurant and bar, live entertainment, 12 lanes of bowling, an arcade, billiards, VIP area, trivia TV games and rollerball. The Station will be built on the north end of the property facing Bridge Street's lake.

This is awesome news!

This is what's missing in Hunstville for young adults and families to go to for entertainment. They need to add a walk climbing experience as well as an indoor co-cart speedway and indoor put-put course at Bridge Street. The more attarctions they have the more people will come and the more money spent.

From the sound of the location, it'll be built in that massive greenspace by the lake as you walk up to the mall from the logo marker near the side parking lot. This is the perfect location for somethign like this and that lake will look amazing at night with all the buildings surrounding it and glowing when this new attraction is completed.

I take it this is not the same as the "Station" in Madison where you can get drunk on PBR, sing Blue Oyster Cult on karaoke and pick up women twice your age...

Yeah I was wondering how that name similarity would be taken care of. The Station can only be 1 of those places, and I doubt you'll be seeing the bar change it's name.

The Station is going above Chico's and Clarks beside The Melting Pot. They are taking almost 1/2 of the upstairs space. They are N38 on this directory. Last I heard they only had a tenant executed lease, but the Landlord hadn't executed the lease yet and was still reviewing it.

^That's a really old model of Bridge Street... it's probably 2.5-3 years old.

"Lowbrow" fun can be the best. Show up as you are, the drinks and food are good but affordable, the people are more concerned with having a good time rather than showing each other up, and you can rock out.

Isn't the US Space and Rocket Center a Logical Choice for one of these? Not sure how they could afford it, but what is the affiliation with the center and NASA? Isn't it part of NASA? I really don't know...

Does anyone know a list of road projects that are "ready to go" (design phase finished) in the area? I'm just wondering projects that could be funded by the economic stimulus that will be passed after Obama takes office. There are reports this morning that it will be upwards of $850 billion. Supposedly, only projects that are "ready to go" will be part of this.
