Would be cool if it was an oscillating green-blue instead, but I won't fight it from being nice infill. Good that they plan to light it. Maybe they should light the white bands too.

Hmmm... has anybody noticed that the flag pole on top of 2Union Square looks taller? Was it raised or what?

Yeah, I noticed it this morning when going over the West Seattle bridge. It looks nice imo. Very sleek and modern. And the flag was raised this afternoon. It wasn't on this morning.

Thanks for the pics!

The way it's proportioned makes it look way huger in person-- it's great. I think Aspira will stand out until they build out the area around it. One side is prepared in anticipation of a future development on the block to match it.

By "match" do you mean size or twin. I didn't know that Aspire is to have a twin.

Height only. Aspira is stand-alone, but the area is too valuable to not build up.

Ok. Was that where the triangle-head building was supposed to be built? The one that was supposed to get wider on 3-sides as it got higher?

^That's Kinects, at Minor and Stewart, a couple of blocks away.

I don't think there is a distinct plan for that side of the block, just the recognition that the height potential matches profit potential.

it looks like Aspira will be surprisingly sleek....good to see! It was difficult to tell from the early renderings how it would turn out anyway.

Someday I'll get un-lazy and update the front page of this thread.

Maybe over Thanksgiving.

On Thanksgiving, somebody can send me a PM telling me, "GET OFF YOUR LAZY ASS!!" Maybe that'll spur me on to action.

Well 1521 was in the news this morning. It's the first skyscraper built under the new zoning laws and whatnot. And it's also the most expensive condo tower in Seattle [well, it's the Four Seasons but it's not really a tower]... Oh, the tower also opened...

Anyone else see the blue slat-like things going up on the exterior of Olive 8? They seem to be using them to mark where the olives are on the base and above on the hotel portion to add some interest. They look kind of cool.

Thanks for posting the photos. I like the blue things as well - I was wondering how they were going to make the olives show up.

Also, the sidewalk on Olive is passable now.
