If those businesses on Cambie gets reimbursement of some sort due to the C-line construction, that's fine with me. However, they must also share a certain amount of businesses which they'll attract due to the C-line (when it's opened) as well. Might as well be fair.

Sounds sort of communist to me.

They will in a way, since their rents or property taxes will go up due to the change in property values along the corridor.

With big projects like this, with long lead times, if you don't think you can stand the heat of the construction period, get out of the fire before it starts!

Is there a reason the trains have been travelling along the left side of the guidway as oppose to the right in the few videos that have been posted?

They have a bunch of trains parked on the westbound guideway next to YVR, so they just went back and forth on the eastbound guideway.

I heard that there is room under the seats for luggage (i think for medium and smaller bags) which goes for many airport metros, i have never ridden a metro that has room to store the big luggage bags.

Meh, just put your luggage where the bikes are supposed to go.

Yeah - I'd rather stand next to my luggage rather than place it on a rack at the front or middle of the car (like the West Vancouver bus to Horsehoe Bay) and wonder whether anyone is stealing it.

I think the "empty" areas are intended to be multipurpose, for luggage, wheelchairs, bikes, etc.

I'm loving the 4-pronged bars in the middle of the aisles. That's going to be such an improvement on the current Skytrain configuration. I hate trying to find something to hold onto when the train is packed. I wonder if they will be adding something like this to the upcoming Skytrain cars. Does anyone know if there will be any differences between those and the current ones?

Ya the Piccadilly has luggage space by the doors with a padded perch to lean against while you mind your bags. Leaving baggage alone is obviously against regulations while on TfL vehicles. I wonder if they'll regulate the same here while the Olympics are on.

Piccadily Line 1973 Stock refurbished by Bombardier in '93.

The bike holders on the Portland MAX have a better design that reduces the space each bike takes up. Beside a door, there are a couple hooks at eye level or so in front of a plexiglass divider. You lift the front of the bike up, and hang the front tire from a hook.
