I hope that Scott McQuarrie and the rest of the Proscenium developers listen to common reasoning, and scale this thing way down, and give up on the Broadway Theater. Let's continue to encourage and support Mayor Becker and all those who are fighting to keep SLC vibrant!
I thought this was a nice shot of Salt Lake City. I can't wait to see the added infill now under construction. From this angle Tower 1 is going to look great.
Thanks for posting this gem UrbanBoy! It gives me greater hope of being able to get out there that much sooner. Working out the financials, I'll probably be taking a $15k - $25k cut, but still plan on coming out ahead in the long run! SLC is the Place2Be!

The more I read about SLC, the more I am starting to like it. I have never been out there however; I would like to take a nice little vacation to SLC. I am worried that I may not leave.
What makes SLC even more appealing are the nice people.
Kind of wish kindness would be more widespread on the East Coast.

Delta Air Lines plans to offer direct flights from Salt Lake City to Narita International Airport in Tokyo next June, the airline said Wednesday.
The airline said the new route will connect passengers to 20 Asian destinations.
Delta said the flight between its hub at Salt Lake City International Airport and Tokyo is its first trans-Pacific service from the Rocky Mountain region. The first flight will depart June 3, a year and a day after Delta began its first trans-Atlantic route from Salt Lake to Paris. The success of that route led Delta to plan service to Tokyo.
Delta will fly the route five times a week using an Airbus 330-200 jet that seats more than 250 passengers. To prepare for the new route, Delta will increase flying between Salt Lake and Detroit in January. Delta said it will also start new daily service in January from Utah's capital to Memphis, Tenn.
Those hubs and Narita in Tokyo previously had been Northwest Airline hubs. Delta merged with Northwest two weeks ago to create the world's largest airline by passenger numbers.
The new Tokyo service is part of 15 new international routes to Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East Delta announced Wednesday.

What makes SLC even more appealing are the Mormons. Mormons are the best people I have ever been around. IMO Mormons are the definition of kindness, hence why I make frequent visits to the Mormon Temple Visitors Center near DC.

This really is one of the most picturesque photo's that I have ever seen of Salt Lake City, not only from this vantage point (which personally, I am not a huge fan of) ...but any angle!
I'm confused. How is it that things like adding flights or other auxiliary development topics that will eventually affect the urban fabric of a city become germane for discussion but relevant political topics that may or may not alter tourist numbers not?

Yaaaaaaaay! Now that the Tribune building has new owners, perhaps the city can convince them to subdivide the back half of the property to allow more space for the theater!

yes, they own a little patch of land at south towne near city hall. That is why they want to capitalize on the land. They were able to afford that piece at a relatively low cost compared to a same size lot in downtown SLC.
