Hawkeye and Solarwind on the same page? This is going to be one to reckon with.

I always appreciate your work, guys.

I guess they're on top instead of the bottom (where you'd expect a support) so that they're not visible to 99% of the observers of the building.

But they don't start until around the 40th floor ... are these truly unnecessary on the lower floors - or did they discover some kind of problem and then decide they should be using these?

They are only necessary for the balconies that cantilever too far for the slab itself to support. As the building rises, the balconies project further out. Hence, they are not indicative of a problem at all.

Gang actually told us that these were coming; I forget when. She expressed disappointment that the engineers had required them, but I think this is a fairly creative solution to the problem. I've been keeping an eye out to see just where the extra members were going to be, but I hadn't been able to spot them - for obvious reasons.

I hope that the balcony supports are located in-between units. It would suck having that support in the middle of a functional balcony

I thought about that but it does look like there are a few pretty large balconies in the first 40 floors - e.g. lower middle of south face. Perhaps they are now getting even bigger.

Those supports do kind of suck, though i suppose its better than a broken balcony. Anyway. Killer shots.

A shot from my perspective from earlier today

I was looking at your great photos again and this one really stood out at me. From that perspective the balconies really mask the true shape of the building in certain spots. It quite effectively breaks up the boxy-ness of the building and gives it a nice flowing shape, as was intended.

I have a feeling there will be a near endless amount of unique and interesting perspectives of this building.

From the river, Clark or Wells bridge, they were pulling out one of the big forms to jump(?) it up.

The term for those balcony cantilevered beams would be upturned, where we would typically see them below the slab they would be called downturned beams.
