About 14-15 years ago, when my ex-wife and I were on a weight-loss regime, we used to go join the elderly mall walkers every morning. And even then we were puzzled as to how the mall stayed in business. I remember there was a store that sold "wicker" furniture made from fiberglass. We concluded it had to be a front for the mob or drugs or something, because we couldn't imagine anyone buying that stuff.

man i'm going to miss that old northcross mall! i used to have lunch at the furrs cafeteria all the time- was always crowded, which made me wonder why they closed down long ago. umm, is the skating rink getting torn out too?
too bad that indoor malls aren't getting built anymore. seems like the new thing is openair outdoor malls, which in my opinion, aren''t really good in extreme climates like texas where it stays hot and humid about 8/9 months out of the year

Does anyone have any good pics of the skyline from 360, between the Westbank and Lost Creek traffic lights?
I don't think I 've seen this view on the forum. It's one of my favorites because it reflects the true heights of the buildings in relation to each other, IMO.
It's not too bad. A little too much perspective distortion, otherwise not off by too much. Oh, I also see there are no windows on the east side of the building. Oh well, that side wasn't in any of the renders. A little guesswork on my part.
These are the proposals for a team not a design. I am surprised there is not a design proposal at this phase the way there was for The Green project. Any of these teams could make it work. I personally like Lake-Flato.
What I wrote the council was that I was more concerned that the design process not get muddled by too many armchair architects! I don't want a warm and fuzzy building....
Make it bold....Make it Creative.... Make it Austin...... ( They can use that quote if they like ! JK)
I like the Lake/Flato one too. I LOVE the idea of those "garden reading rooms". So nice. They could totally do that too with Shoal Creek bordering the site to the east.

All the recent shots are really nice to see, thanks too all the photog's for sharing. I noticed that the Austonian is just on the cusp of making itself a part of the skyline kinda a teaser if you will! The next 4-6 months should see most of the guts in place, and with the W and 4 Seasons taking shape I figure it will be almost breathtaking.
