by my count, 7/10. i'll take it.

little known fact: while not born here, lester pearson spent his adolescent years in hamilton. i believe his father was a protestant minister, so they moved around a lot. while here, they lived on catharine north near cannon. the home still stands though it operates as a rooming house now. i think we should include him as a hamilton pm. of course, macnab wasn't born here either.

That would've been awesome if there were twin Stelco Towers standing almost one block apart.

The Avalon

i'd like to believe the name change happened because some letters fell off the marquee and they rolled with it

I didn't know that about Eugene Levy, so you taught me something from that question. I never watched that show as I was usually at work at that time, since I worked the graveyard shift. So I didn't know much about that show.

Shows how much more we can learn about our city.

I will post answers soon.

Answers for the last set of my questions.

1. 1991

2. 1884, I didn't think this was established this long. This one sure surprised me.

3. Karen Kain, I didn't realize it had been that long since she retired from her dancing. It was in 1997. I wasn't much into ballet but on the few times I saw her on tv, she sure was good.

4. 1893 I think I read this was the first department store in Hamilton.

5. True

6. True

7. Avalon, I remember when it was called the Avalon.

8. Lancaster, This was only one I have seen on the times I have been to the services. I didn't know a person can take a ride in a warplane but it sure isn't cheap.

9. False It was 1973, I didn't think this mall was this old either. How we can forget. Especially when you get to my age. lol

10. Martin Short

Right House brochure when it was rebranded (unsuccessfully) as Park Place in the early 80s. Not surprising it failed... considering the ad agency responsible this disaster.

enjoy the vintage 80s printing and illustration. high rez available, just pm me.

Tradition and Opportunity. Now there's a slogan for you. The city could have saved all those consultants' fees they paid for the impossibly lame "Reach Dream Rise Shine" or whatever it was.

The Right House looks deceivingly large in those renderings Is there even a mezzanine level anymore? I can't remember the last time I stepped into that place
