Thanks for the pics Projects. Looks like they're moving along pretty quickly on this project. This baby going to be up and operating in no time.

I like this project it’s not all that bad. I will it did have more bricks involved but it matches the feel of the gateway nicely especially the finishing on the top left and right hand sides.

These have turned out unbelievable well, I love them. I love the brick and stone combo. Too bad for the stucco facing the free way.

I like the balconies too Projects, and I don't have a problem with the paint on the side...well tooo much. I still grimace painfully when I see that front though, big time.

Thanks for the many great Pics SLC Projects and T-Mac. I think 600 West is definately going to be an improvement. Looking at this site plan below, I'm anxious to see how this southeast corner of Bridges at Citifront will look from that perspective. I would have actually liked to have seen those unit's bordering 600 West and also South Temple somewhat taller, with a few small shops at street level. Looking at how quickly this area is transforming, I think a street presence more like Fireclay would have been financially profitable for the devleoper. Anyway, very glad that they used the stone and brick, and that they also included the multi level parking at the rear. No parking lot on the street, thank goodness.

Ran across a good source for Broadway Park Lofts construction pics....

All photos are property of Silus Grok at Flickr, go check it out...
The guy lives in the Uffens Marketplace next door to the site, so he has an awesome view. I sent him an invite to the forum, hopefully we can have a regular photo update from him.

I'm anxious to see that project start to take it's design shape. IMO, that's one of the most attractive condo/loft projects not only in downtown SLC, but on this entire forum. I hope the exterior materials come off as attractive as they look like they're going to be in the rendering.

Ok so according to emporis.com Salt Lake City only has 7 skyscrapers. Well only five really. The other two haven't been built.

See for yourself.

So I guess they would say anything over 100 M. or 300 FT. is a skyscraper?

Bridges

Overall I like the Bridges project. Decent location, above average site design, major improvement to the area, but the architecture doesn't do much for me. I don't like the stone arch with the brick, not enough releif between materials and they just don't seem to mix well. I also don't like the roof line. It seems like a more significant demarcation of roof and wall would have really improved the building. What's up with the bricked in windows? I think the designer was trying to make it cutting edge but wanted to use traditional materials and the result was kind of schizophrenic.

Yeah, the overall design is OK, and certainly an improvement for the area, but seems a little contrived. I actually like the cheaper northern end of the building much more than the south side which has all of the brick and stone:

The brick above the stucco is a bit wierd, and the old-worldy looking stone doesn't jive well with the modern lines in the rest of the building. You can't see it very well in this picture, but the blue seamed metal roof is just awful and doesn't match anything else on the building.

The location is good (close to DT and Gateway), but at the same time the location kinda sucks. You can walk to Gateway, but not without crossing the freight tracks. (The site is sandwiched between I-15, an active rail yard and the rapidly declining Citifront apartments to the north):

It would be nice if they could landscape the area I've shown in green, but I'm pretty sure it belongs to the railroad, and will remain a barren field. If you've ever riden FrontRunner past the site you get a feel for how close they are to the tracks and how unfriendly the area around the site really looks.

Does anybody know what these are priced at? I could see them selling well if they were priced below 225K, sort of a low-price alternative to the rest of downtown, but I think they'd have a hard time selling them for over 300K given their location.

The brick above the stucco is super weird! I almost choked when I first saw that... okay, not really. The "cheaper" northern end does look better than the weird stone, brick, stucco combo. I don't think it's the worst thing I've seen, but I don't really care for it, either.

I don't like it, but mostly because it just looks like a bigger version of those lame suburban apartment complexes.
