This may be absurd, but would it be feasible for a developer to build a highrise at the southern end of Wacker that bridges over the street (similar to how the Chicago Stock Exchange does over Congress)? What a sight that would be

You could, in theory, bridge it just north of Vanburen, as there is the surface lot next to 311 S Wacker and across the street is a vacant lot along the river (currently keeping trees alive for someone).
But I don't think anyone letting that happen because, frankly, I don't think it would turn out very good.
Looking north, though, a Wolf Point development could make a visual endcap, albeit across the river.
For my money, though, the best vista in that area is looking north along Franklin. I think that view will just get better, too, as the vacant lots between Randolph and Washington get built up and the underused lot on the NE corner of Randolph and Franklin gets redeveloped, and the lot next to the UBS gets built up. Once those are built up, an already impressive view looking north will be even better.
