ahhhh.....i should have picked up on that one.....i dont know what the carpenters refer to it as, but its just a thin triangular piece of wood they nail to the deck. im pretty sure its the same thing they use on the corners of the columns in the garage, so its not a 90 degree corner. as for the formwork, or bulkhead, its really quite simple.....the tech engineer lays out multiple points on the deck and then the carpenters nail down the flexible aluminum bulkhead youve heard so much about at these predetermined points. anyway, ill see if i can snap a couple of pics for you. it might be a week or two but ill get it. i dont work up on the deck everyday. as for everything else, ill do my best. and the interior shots let me just ask someone about that first. im sure its no big deal, its not like we're building a top secret military facility, but i just dont want to be posting pictures unless i know it's not an issue

Just kidding I'd love to see some of the interior work. Thank you!

I've been so taken by Aqua's hypnotic waviness, that I've forgotten that it's going to be one tall building when it's finished. Here it is on 8/10/08, capping the canyon (with BCBS behind it) looking south down Fairbanks.

Aqua is visible between Park Millennium and the Carbide and Carbon Building.

Quick and dirty, but I wanted to see how high Aqua would get in Solarwind's last photo, using 52 for the current floor:

Nice! I didn't realize the presence this would have from the river. This city just keeps getting more amazing every day.

Does anyone know what they plan on doing with that chunk of unused land directly south of E Benton Pl? It seems too small to develop anything there other than a park.

I am sure they could figure out something to put on it. Look how small the plot is where the restaurant La Stada was on Millenium Park...it is really small too!

What are you talking about - the Aqua II site? the Treasure Island site?

I don't know how to be any more clear, the chunk of unused land directly south of E Benton Pl. Look at google maps.

^ denizen is correct... the site south of Benton Place is where they are building the market, anchored by Treasure Island. There is another site just north of the BCBS building and south of Aqua that has been rumored as either the location of the school or the location of another tower.

To be honest, I believe it is a tower on top of a school concept.

^ Even better! Chicago really could use some mixed-use towers that are not purely a mix of residential types and commercial types. I think this will be a great example of what can be accomplished.

I was under the impression that the school is going into the northeast corner of the park between the two towers....

I would be surprised that the developers, or the residents for that matter, would want to tie up the development of the new school with the market driven conditions of the new tower south of Aqua....

the only site I am not clear on and the one that I thought was being questioned about above is the site in the northwest corner of the park immediately east of the new stair and west of the latest rental tower....
