There's a company in Austin called Gliding Revolution that gives Segway tours of the city. The group in Priller's photo above appears to be one of those tours.

If you're curious, here's a link: http://www.glidingrevolution.com/index.html

I went by the Austonian today on my bike.

With the progress they've made so far, you can already tell how truly massive this building is going to be compared to any building in the city.

The latest Austonian construction report (9/5) is out:

http://theaustonian.com/pics/2008-09-05_Austonian%20Report_48.pdf

Work activities completed thru September 5, 2008:

• Level 15 concrete deck poured on September 3, 2008
• Level 16 vertical structural members 50% complete
• Level 16 concrete deck scheduled to pour September 10, 2008
• Block masonry continues along 2nd Street elevation
• Site visit conducted at Coreslab Structures to inspect pre-cast concrete panels
• Austonian sales team members visit the project site
• Drywall framing and sheetrocking of tower electrical rooms underway
• Wall layout of condo units begins at level 11
• MEP rough in continues in podium and tower
• Window wall installation crews to mobilize week of September 8, 2008

It looks like we might be seeing some windows and exterior pre-cast concrete go up this week.

A few of the photos from the report:

It looks pretty much like the last photo, with 2 more floors. Didn't have a chance to take any photos over the weekend. I'll try to get some this week.

Austonian is now starting to pop up in the skyline. That's it on the right, next to the Ashton.

Up to 17 floors now. Just 39 more to go!

yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Also, the latest construction report said they've been working on the site for a year now.

I guess it's up to the crane operator, but it looks like they could go 3-5 floors before they need to raise the crane.
