Mondrian Hotel I suspect is the old Cedar Hotel.

I don't see how the Congress Plaza can expand seeing as they didn't get approval. they need to fix what they have before they expand.

I was told I should post these pics of mine here. Taken a week or so ago, when visiting friends back in Chitown:

I haven't been back to Chicago since the Trump Tower broke ground. It's shocking to see how far it's come along and the mark it makes on the skyline!

Jai, fantastic photography (and post processing, I presume?). Thanks for sharing with us.

I love everything you are building at Chicago, frankly, I think that some day overtake the buildings in New York.
I hope that in 2009 choose to Chicago to host the Olympic Games of 2016 to build many more projects as happened in Beijing

..........I know this is a touchy subject.......but it seems that page 1 of this forum never seems to change......the "site prep" buildings haven't moved in ages, and some of the "proposed" items seem to be more like "wishful thinking" at this point........I think some judicious pruning of page 1 is probably in order given the current state of the real estate market in Chicago......

Hi, thanks man, and all of you who commented

The only post processing I do is in the use of HDR photographic techniques. I tend to look at 'photoshopping' pictures to enchance color or contrast as 'cheating', so I try to use HDR to make it a more natural (i.e. as how my own eyes actually saw it) range of color and shadow.

The trick is, and this took me forever to learn, how to best use exposure and aperture settings on your camera. I use a K10d, btw

Cheers

Lakeshore East project lifts Magellan to top

By Susan Diesenhouse | Chicago Tribune reporter
August 1, 2008

In this new feature, we turn the spotlight on builders and developers in the Chicago area to give you insight on what sets them apart from the crowd.

A great location, moderate prices for a luxury product and a quick sellout has been the formula for developing Lakeshore East, an enormous project that has catapulted Magellan Development Group LLC into the top tier of Chicago developers...

Mondrian is indeed the old Cedar. And that $20 million figure related to it is a joke. Probably going to be three or four times that.

Tom In Chicago is working on a new boom rundown thread, so I would just sit tight. I think it's coming soon. Maybe someone (with more knowledge than me) could post all the changes necessary to help him out. (if he needs that, I dunno)

Also, I suggested some ideas for the new thread, and he is very receptive and looking for ways to improve upon the thread, so if you have ideas PM him.

Yeah. . . sit tight. . . worked on this a little bit earlier today. . . been pretty busy lately and as Steely can tell you it's pretty time consuming to keep up. . . in the meantime feel free to PM me any updates or glaring omissions you feel are necessary. . .
