Nice shot with the majestic gull Harry! It looks like a statue on a pedestal. Nice pose.

The uppermost columns are white and seem to be set back a bit from the edge. Are these the final vertical members that will support the roof?

If you take a look at the renderings on page one. I believe this is a minor set back, I think it will rise 2 or three floors then setback again and finally some fantastic stainless steel flying buttresses to top this one off.

(Trump in center) This view shouldn't be so good, a very nice pre-chicago school industrial building was torn down here. It housed a tannery.

I agree that the rendering makes this look like it is going to be going up higher. But is that going to be occupy-able space or ornamentation? Or both?

Now, obviously a bunch more material is going onto this thing (and the official top of the building will be much higher than the current top) so it'll be interesting to see how the last bits of the building go on.

Looks like it already has quite a powerful presence. It's amazing when a tower that's almost 800 feet will serve mainly as a background backdrop that builds up the scale towards the taller towers like Waterview, Trump, CS, etc. Overall, the supertall corridor along the river and Lakeshore East, anchored by CS, will make for a great highrise epicenter for a skyline that's both as sprawling as it is massive that Chicago has.

The workers are also visible in the top photo which is only showing the upper portion of 300 N LaSalle. It gives one a sense of how vast this building really is.

In this render, the small setback where the accent lighting of the crown starts should be the same level where the white colums begin.

The steel beams in this picture really play tricks with perspective. In the top left it appears as the horizontal beam is connected to the first two left most beams. But if you look at where those beams connect near the lower floor-plate you can see that they are on different planes. Very Escher-esque.
