It's not so often seen without Jin Mao.
Here, its dominance is unchallenged.

Woahh! Too many calories for this fellah.

It's wider than I thought.

The wideness of it is what strikes me the most as well now that it is "finished". Seen from the north it looks particularly massive - almost unbelievably so. I'll see if I can take some snaps from that angle later this week.

WOW one of the best pics of Shanghai I've ever seen, wow. Plus it looks great, its hard to finally accept that its there, I thought this thing would never be done, not that it was slow, but I mean back then.

Already did, but I forgot to bring my camera.
I'll try to do it before I leave for Scandinavia again though.

Not really an update per se (although we are not too spoiled with close ups of the base of the tower here), but I'm doing a photography project that includes the SWFC, and here's two shots (taken today) from it.

The "stone cladding" around the base of the tower is genius. Absolutely brilliant.

Yes, what a contrast to the slick glass on the rest of the tower!
The stone is very rough in texture, and the blocks are very irregular in both shape and color. I like this a lot!!

Actually it is not completed just yet. Still work to do around the base, as well as removing all the protective film from the cladding. I imagine there's quite a bit of interior work to be done as well before it opens in late August.

A snapshot showing the whole building, also from today;

This building probably has the best cladding in the history of claddings...

Wow, that picture is great. If it's not complete then why does it say so in the diagram section?
