I hate the 80s.

Citadel Center isn't anythign special, but it has a sentimental value to me. Its the first building in Chicago that I remeber seeing built. It was so "new and glassy" that it got me interested in what became the Boom and architecture and urban developmenr in general.

Funny, that building has the exact same sentimental value for me, plus I just got a job offer from Citadel! woo who!

This project continues to amaze me. Folks really can't imagine the impact that this tower will have on the skyline. It's beautiful!

The small little retail box on the river (in Harry's Rambo government overkill dinghy shot) is my favorite part of 300 N. LaSalle so far.

I was driving to the Sox game on Sunday and this building really has a striking presence when comming in on the Kennedy. However, it seems like this building is considerably taller that 2-PRU, and I understand the effects of perspective but I would appreciate other's feedback on this matter. It seems like 2-PRU was built on ground that is at a lower elevation that 300 N. Lasalle.

^ 2 Pru is always a very strange one for me too... It never looks 995' until you are about 50 stories up in the air. I think this has to do with the fact that it tapers so significantly, and then AON puts so much bulk right up in its face.

Also, since 300 is measured from the bridge elevation of LaSalle street, its height on a level tableau would be over 800', so the gap closes a bit I think.

This building will do wonders in expanding the CBD more towards the western end of River North. While offices are ubiquitous in streeterville and along Michigan Avenue, this part of town is still mostly lowrise and residential. I love the height too, its just perfect!

Agreed, I hope this and 353 N Clark help to push River North upwards with new skyscrapers in the near future
