^^^^ Nice photo. I love how you managed to just sqeeze in 300 N LaSalle to give it a bit of relevancy to this thread.

BTW, what's that attractive building below and to the left of the Sears Tower in the photo? It's a pity it seems to be somewhat hidden by its immediate neighbors and 55 E Monroe.

^ You'll have to be a bit more descriptive - almost all of the buildings in that photo are attractive.

The big blue glassy one, if that's what you're referring to, is Dearborn Center.

Yeah, that's the one. It reminded me quite a bit of RR Donnelly.

And after a bit more digging, I came across it on Emporis and see its also called "Citadel Center".

It's good to see some buildings we don't normally get to see that well,
like Cesar Pelli's 181 West Madison.

It's also a bit like a 'Where's Waldo'...I couldn't even find 300 N. Lasalle
for awhile. lol

Same architect, Ricardo Bofill.

I was very disappointed with the outcome of "Citadel Center". I wish Adrian Smith's "Dearborn Center" had been built there instead.

^^^Ew. Architecturally thats disastrous. Its like 333 S Wacker meets AT&T meets 2IFC...with green glass.

I hate the 80s.

Citadel Center isn't anythign special, but it has a sentimental value to me. Its the first building in Chicago that I remeber seeing built. It was so "new and glassy" that it got me interested in what became the Boom and architecture and urban developmenr in general.
