Anybody in the know out there that wants to fill us in on why the North crane has the tower all the way to the ground? Me and my friends are baffled.

Both crane towers go all the way to the bottom. This is (was ?) the standard technique here.

TheWitt, Aqua, and Waterview use very similar cranes with a climbing base.
155 N Wacker and 353 N Clark us a different style of climbing crane, the same that is being used on the new WTC in NY.

The irony of working in a cloth covered cube in a glass skyscraper. And to top it off the entire E wall will be offices ( on these floors ).

I hate this tower. I want "little fugly" parking structure back!

Just kidding!

This tower looks so amazing with it's surroundings, such a perfect fit. And I wish I had one of those offices. For now I have to settle with a cube 20 feet away from a window.

Doesnt look like much of a ceremony but to each is own i guess, lol. Thanks for the photos! Why do they have a christmas like tree on the beam?

Apparently, fir trees are for some reason a part of T/O procedure for ironworkers. I don't know why, but I'm pretty sure that's standard operating procedure.
