V6A, Union and Gore:

Ginger, from the Alley:

From the front:

A few new coffee shops have moved into the area:

The 100 Block of Powell:

These houses have been nearly finished for almost a year now but I think the one on the left has people living in them. Hurry up and just finished the darned things already! I wonder if the same developers who built these 3 houses own the empty lot on the corner beside these houses, too:

Yeah I think that house on the end has the garages for all 3.

And the Waves is 24 hours and has been open for a few weeks. I haven't been in but it's a pretty nice corner space.

Thanks for the pics SFU and entheosfog!

And that's great news about the Coast Hotel becoming rental suites. The city in general could use some more of those.

awesome pix though guys, thanks a lot. anything going on at the main and prior site?

I know what you mean about the houses. Plus, I'd be a little suspect as to why they're taking so long to finish.

I heard some sort of rumour that a hospital was planned for the site? Maybe an outdated rumour? I hope something gets done with the area, though, it's a pretty large parcel.

those houses were burnt down once when they were near completion the first go round

maybe they had problems with insurance pop up?

they are not too bad - horrible location but they fit into the area and use up a lot that sat vacant for years

they look like vancouver heritage homes i thought - the working class kind anyway

My former employer used to host its annual meetings there. Phenomenal, stunning views of English Bay from that site! Much better than the much-vaunted views from Coal Harbour, False Creek, etc.

Some renters will be very, very lucky indeed.
