An article says 550'. I forget where.

Most towers seem to be 10% over their height limits. That must be an allowance for architectural features and mechanical.

Since the first proposal had a 46 story tower at 550 feet, I imagine this will be 500-520 feet.
It says 44 story towers over 11 story base, wouldn't that be 55 story?

Nah, just 44 stories with the base spreading up until the 11th floor.

Ah, it's misleading then. A base would be something that is under the tower not something that is beside it or surrounding it.
It should actually say "33 story towers".

There's a fancy new sign up at the Insignia site (6th and Bell) and there's a trailer on the site that I haven't noticed before. Wonder if something will be happening soon?

...Saw the Four Seasons and 1521 from the viaduct on my way to and back from W Seattle to Ballard on the viaduct. Have to say, I'm actually really diggin the dark glass on the condo section of the Four Seasons. I didn't realize how green it was...I think it looks great with those "zune brown" metal panels. Also, 1521 didn't look as blue as in the photos.

The color can depend on the type of daylight and the direction you're looking at it. And then the photographer can do tricks too.

Thanks for the updates. It's been a good while since I've been in that part of town.

I wouldn't mind at all if someone was able to do a land-swap and move the Heron/Pagoda project from 5th & Stewart to 7th & Westlake or near there.

Insignia is a go! Awesome!

From the Pillars, Mirabella looks like a freakin' castle. It's scary

Where did you hear that about Insignia? I sure haven't.

Is this another "overly hasty assumption" like so often happens on SSP/SSC?

Oh, wait, I just read-- they're storing steel I-beams on-site. The whole thing has been repurposed.

Lord, if your nose was turned up any higher I could probably see the back of your eyeballs.

It's amazing how you can psychoanalyze someone based upon so little.

When you talk about a "start" on SSP/SSC, people take that seriously. When it's not based on anything, which is the case here, of course someone will mention it. Accuracy is important.

You take glancing criticism so seriously.

This whole "wait until it's above ground" thing really kills the mood, especially when they've got a trailer and equipment set up. Makes it sound like a Chicago Spire thread

Well, while we're at it, how about that observatory for the Chicago Spire?

Not until seeing Vashon's pics of the beautiful parking lot, which will one day support the Insignia project, did I realize how much it'll add to that area.

Ah, Insignia. The Chuck Norris/Barack Obama of the development world.

Insignia cured cancer by giving it a mean look.

Insignia is all-American because it was the birth place of Jesus.

Insignia beat up Hitler before it was in-style.

Insignia was first in line to storm the beaches of Normandy.

It's true. Insignia doesn't do push-ups. Insignia pushes the planet down.

Skyline at First Hill is coming along well. I got some pictures from Swedish Medical Center last Tuesday which show how much it will impact the skyline from the East and South views.

At night it will fill up part of First Hill. Although the design isn't great it's better than having those empty parking lots. The only thing I don't like about this project is that it will block some views of St. James Cathedral.

Groovilicious shots. Didn't even recognize the first one as being Seattle.
