I have some experience working with developers on condo projects. It is not uncommon for them to have second thoughts. I recently redesigned a condo building (making it 50% smaller) after getting a permit and breaking ground on the original design.

I didn't get the impression that t the getting underway part was iffy, just the height part.
As for Met 3 ,the lender is looking for 80% sold before he makes the loan to the developer. There are between 600-650 units at Met3 ,so 480-520 would have to be sold before the developer green lights it.

I think that is the best pic yet for showing the density coming to Downtown Miami. Just imagine that pic with Met2 and Met3 (if we ever really get it). And the one from above Coconut Grove is just plain stunning.

With the new interest and attention brought to Miami by the magnitude of this most recent boom, there is no telling what we might see in the future. We just won't have supertalls as tall as those in New York and Chicago because of the proximity of MIA and FAA height restrictions.
