I grew up in Bridgeview Survey.
That first photo of the 1948 aerial is amazing - no parking lots and a continuous streetwall on every artery. We moved to Hamilton in 1951 when I was a child and that is exactly how I remember downtown. It was a bustling happening place with sidewalks crowded with pedestrians and shoppers. I'm dismayed to see it now, especially around Gore Park.
