I'm thinking that around 2010 after 222 s. Main fills up we may hear an announcement about another office tower as part of CCC

I'm hoping for a sooner announcement on a new Office Tower since the 222 South Main building is already 35% leased.
I'm heading downtown right now to check out the site. I will take some photos and post them later.

I think we will hear about another tower when this one is 51% leased. So my personal bet is that we will hear about another tower by the end of January `09.

Can't wait to see more pics of this thing rise...

Yea that is a misleading quote there from the news. If you guys were to look up emporis.com and look at the list of SLC's tallest at 316 that would put the 222 South Main at the 10th tallest building. Not even close to being ONE of the tallest. Hell even both the American Towers at 324 feet will be taller.

American Towers are really 324 feet????? They seem waaaay shorter than that. That's only 25 feet shorter than Utah One and it sure doesn't seem that way. That also means that they are 110 feet taller than Hotel Monaco next door.... Are you sure that's accurate?

I read something interesting lately. The architects who designed 222 S. Main also designed the Sears Tower in Chicago (which is not really a thing of beauty).

I really like the Sears Tower. SOM is also the designer of Burj Dubai (soon to be tallest building in the world), Jin Mao Tower, Trump Tower Chicago to name just a few.

I was just checking out the live cam and it looks like crews are just about finish with the steel work on the bottom two levels in the basement. I'm sure ANY day now we could see steel rise above the street level.

my guess is that the white one is for the parking structure and the blue one is for the main tower...

TOO COOL...seeing the steel rise above the street level is amazing.
