The land still seems to be in the city's name, but I think the transfer is official, just not closed.

As an interesting aside, the old building beside the condo site is rumored to have been purchased by developers looking to convert it to a hotel.

That would be quite something! Water Street will be a completely different place within the next 5-10 years, not just in appearance (I can't wait for these new buildings combined with the maturation and growth of those trees they planted last summer), but it will finally be alive with people for the first time in a lifetime!

wow....if thats the case, it must look a LOT nicer on the inside than what's visble....!!

I am told there is also a private plaza for condo owners only- for things like BBQ,private receptions, sunbathing, wine bar- that's much bigger than this one and will also be designed by the Harbour Passage architect.
I am told Rocca has a signed agreement to buy the land.My friend that was at one of the focus groups told me that Rocca said he will start construction late this year if the weather is good or early spring if it's not.my friend also told me that look of the project from Water Street is much different but just as impressive as it is from prince William Street.apparantly what he has decided to do is use the stone vacabulary of the commercial buildings on Prince William Street to give the Prince William Street facades a modern and futuristic profile and he is using the townhouse vocabulary of the Trinity Preservation Area as the inspiration for the Water Street fprofile.it will be interesting to see how he pulls it off.

Anyone know what's up off Westmorland Rd near Ellerdale? I noticed some ground work across from the refinery on Loch Lomond too; any chance it is a road linking Loch Lomond to Westmorland?

I believe that is work for the natural gas pipeline.

No suck luck.I asked.
Apparantly,Rocca did not give them any of the material to keep because they might make changes based on the feedback they expected to receive.Rocca did tell them that they were going to get the first sneak preview of the model home before the end of the month and that they would be given the brochure at that time.
Maybe we should consider enviting Rocca to join our discussion group and and ask him whatever is on our minds!!!

Well there will be a pipeline access road that runs along it, so you could always drive on that if you feel brave

I was under the impression that the building was in such bad repair that it didn't make financial sense to restore it and do anything useful with it. I guess the speculation is so far out of control that people are willing to take a risk on it with the new Rocca and Cruise Ship developments. A nice boutique hotel would be perfect for that area. I live just around the corner, so I am very interested to know what is going to happen.

I am so gald someone is going to do something with it instead of having an ugly dilapitated old building sitting beside Rocca's nice new development!

According to the East Point website, It will be open in July.

Okay - this is a really stupid question, so apologies ahead of time - i checked out the website...the "three sisters" development --> is this synonymous with the rocca condos across from the cruise ship centre, or is this a separate initiative??????
