But I could be way off the ball, I guess it all depends on how 'nice' you make it. I suppose you can reuse the turf and jumbotron from the existing stadium, and use wooden benches for the seats (like the existing stadium). That would bring costs down substantially.

But then what's the point? haha I wan't theatre style seats at Mosaic!
Put on those big sun-shades, like they have over the stands at stadiums such as the San Siro and Celtic Park, or Seahawks Stadium. What would it look like with those?

well here is what I had originally, just simple ones like on Mosaic Stadium

I found this monstrosity of a roof hidden on a different layer. I forgot all about it! Don't you love it when you start drawing something simple, and it ends up a needlessly complicated mess?

I made a pretty poor design, since I didn't really end up with any good spots to mount to roof, so either than those two options, I can't really think of anything else

Perhaps a few steel joists from corner to corner to support a roof??

I guess Matt Dunigan wants the CFL in town.... Link at bottom for video and source.

Dunigan Says Bring CFL to Saskatoon (VIDEO)
Friday, 02 May 2008
The guest speaker at this years U. of S. Huskies Dog's Breakfast stirred up the debate over Saskatoon getting a CFL team.
CFL analyst and former player Matt Dunigan says he would like to see the league expand in a few more cities like Ottawa and Halifax and to Saskatoon. Dunigan says the move would create a great rivalry with Regina. This years Dog's Breakfast was another sellout with over 2,000 people in attendance and more than $115,000 raised for scholarships. In addition, the Huskies trotted out their 15 recruits for this season...seven former junior stars and eight high school grads. Among the juniors taking part in Huskies' spring camp are Hilltops' offensive lineman Mike Fuller and kicker Connor MacDougall, safety Bryce McCall and defensive lineman David Rybinski from the Regina Thunder plus defensive back Grant Shaw and defensive lineman Craig Woloshyn of the Edmonton Huskies. Among the high school recruits are a pair of Aden Bowman stars in slotback Jeff Moore and defensive back Keenan MacDougall. Spring camp continues tonight and runs through Sunday at Griffiths Stadium.

Yes to a saskatoon team!! Imagine the "t"rivalry between Calgary, Saskatoon, And regina. My only question would be what would the people in saskatoon who have always cheered for the rough riders do? Would they all of a sudden cheer for the Saksatoon _____ , or would they still love the riders and hate whatever saskatoon team. Kindof liek the ottawa senators and the tons of Leafs fans there.

And what would be a good name for the team?

I would rivalries out west in this stance with a team in Stoon:

Calgary vs. Edmonton; Regina vs. Saskatoon; and BC vs. Winnipeg.

This makes the most sense to me.

Blacch, nothing can ever trump the rivalry between Winnipeg and the Roughriders.

In fact, as much as I would like to see Toontown get a team I would never want them to do it at the expense of Bomber / Roughrider rivalry.

It's a classic, right up there with Springfield and Shelbyville. Regina being Shelbyville of course.

Regina is a formidable foe, but the glory from their defeat should go to Winnipeg and not Saskatoon.

I whole hearted agree, but we all know that if two teams end up in Saskatchewan, they will become official rivals. That is just the way it would go. Nothing can be done about that.

However, on the plus side, Bomber fans would get to go to Vancouver to see their new arch rivals, and I know I could always use a trip to the West Coast

I'd sooner agree to a Winnipeg vs Montreal rivalry instead of a B.C. vs Winnipeg. In the case of a team in Saskatoon. I guess it'll depend on the location of what division Winnipeg ends up in.

In the 80's BC and Winnipeg had a HUGE rivalry ... it was the largest rivalry of its time IMO.

Well allow me to add some detail for you....

The Bombers and Lions become bitter rivals in the 80's as both teams challeneged for first place in the West year after year.

BC had just opened its new BC Place stadium and would sell it out when Winnipeg would come to town. It was extremely loud ..made communication nearly impossible.. which led the Bombers to consider adding radio recievers inside their helmets so the QB could call audiables at the line.

Winnipeg would also sell out these BIG games, but being an outdoor stadium it was never as loud... but was wild.

Tom Clements, James Murphy, Willard Reeves and Tyrone Jones among the stocked Bomber roster .. vs Roy Dewalt, Mervyn Fernadez and James Parker ... they were both dominant teams for years... and hated each other with pasion. It was GREAT!!

In my mind this era provided one of the biggest rivaleries the CFL has ever seen .. and still to this day Bomber Fans are known to chant "BC sucks" every time the lions come to town.
