I have a feeling 300 West will remain blighted for years to come.

Sad to hear. I had lunch today at the Red Iguana and drove past the Kennedy Town Center Condos and there is no activity there and there hasn't been any activity for the past month. This one may be running into the same problem with financing.

This is just not the time for developers to be securing financing on luxury condo's for sale. Credit is tight enough as it is, without asking a lending institution for an investment in something that buyers are not willing to fork out the cash for at this time. In L.A. many of the luxury condo's downtown that were already in the pipeline are being rented out at this time, and the number of prospective 'A-list' tenants exceeds the number of units available.

Though, I do see the old Key Bank peeking out from behind there. From that angle will be beautiful when they finish CCC.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but in that picture, I think I see the old Key Bank tower, pre-demolition. I guess they didn't want to use a recent pic with all the cranes.

Generally they use stock photography for these lists and since that stuff just recently happened, I doubt there are many photos in the stock database of Salt Lake without the Key Bank Tower and with the cranes.

I've seen photos of Salt Lake from the early 90s used in articles.

Sour taste in Sugar House - Demolition project appears to stall, leaving a big mess

http://www.sltrib.com/ci_9140865

Demolition and rebuilding at a site in Sugar House at 2100 South and Highland Drive is stalled. Adjacent businesses and neighbors have complained about the trashy look and piles of rubble, but the developer insists the project will go forward. (Leah Hogsten/The Salt Lake Tribune )

Revitalization - Crumbling downtown thrills shoe shop owner - Longtime businessman has advocated for the rejuvenation of the city's center for 15 years

http://www.sltrib.com/slc/ci_9121156

Downtown is rubble. Construction cranes are nearly as common as office buildings. Most wouldn't consider it a shopper's paradise.
But Richard Wirick, owner of The Oxford Shop, a mens' shoe store in the heart of it all, couldn't be happier.

Has anyone heard anything about any of these projects?
Bowen Studios is a rendering company, not an architectural firm, so these projects could easily have been proposed and abandoned already with no public announcement, just thought I'd share them and see if anyone knows anything.

Speaking of Olmstead if you haven't had a chance to read Devil in the White City, you should give it a read. It talks about the Chicago Worlds Fair, which Olmstead did all the Landscape architecture for it.

There were around 450 of the Yoshino Cherry trees planted.

Funny how the original Olmstead brothers plan was comletely ignored through the years. It is nice to bring back that concept and improve it.

Hey guess what, you may think you may be a future something in 2030. Whatever, but you're just some student with a clown act. I know plenty of folks in the political world and none of them are begging for votes on an anonymous skyscraper forum. forum.

Get real dude.. You are weak to call me out.. Get a job before you speak up..

Hey utenation, I'm not sure where that came from, but why try to bring people down? This doesn't make you look any better. Obviously this is his dream. I believe in you Future Mayor.

Future Mayor,
Thanks for the remark you left regarding a bad apple forumer in the temporarily closed Boise Place thread. It really shows you have some class. I think it is safe to say that most Idaho and Utah forumers get along and respect each other...after all we are neighbors
