My source told me (within the Hill companies) that late May there is supposed to be an announcement on one of the projects. And I believe it was a little over a week ago that Fiacco confirmed that at least 2 towers are in the works with developers already filing paperwork with cityhall.

Any idea as to how soon? Curious as to where you heard that from too. I wonder what the first phase of the development will be.

Also would be nice if we actually knew what it was going to look like!

So the Chilis Grill & Bar looks like its pretty much done the exterior.

Also, does anybody else think that the restaurant is in the worst location possible? The only plus' i see are the hotels that are located near it. if only they had opened a store downtown. It could have brought some life for evenings.

There was supposed to be trees planted all along the parking lot edge to at least 'hide' the lot....so far I've seen no such sign.

Babo, I assume "TC's North" is Tomas Cook North?

Does anyone know what a 'Sask-Tel Energy Centre' is? Apparently a $14M building is being built under that name, in what I assume would be Regina.

They gotta do something to hide the parkade behind that building,It's awful. I don't think planting a couple trees is going to do the trick.

The parkade or the parking lot? Either way, both look pretty bad. Although I take exception moreso to the parking lot itself....

It sounds like it is to be their backup power supply for the phone system. It is going on the corner of Lorne and 11th whcin is the parking lot of their operations building - the one with the big microwave towers on the roof.

The link says it is 3 stories and about 3500 square feet per floor so it won't cover the whole parking lot. Given that it is downtown, I expect they will have it architecturally designed.

Probably somewhat less than the chance of it being a 3 story slab of windowless concrete.

There is some equipment and at least one trailer out there. There were a bunch of people wandering around the lot, looking at the buildings...I'd venture to guess VERY, VERY soon.

Everyone interested in Regina’s downtown is invited to attend two public events during Forum 2 of the Downtown Plan project. Both events are held at Knox-Metropolitan Church, 2340 Victoria Avenue (wheelchair access to the elevator is available at the Victoria Avenue entrance).

Public Open House
Wednesday, April 16, 6 - 9 p.m.

Come out and hear about the outcomes of Forum 1, and then provide feedback on the vision, principles and big ideas for the downtown in an interactive session. This is your chance to tell us if we are headed in the right direction to create a fantastic downtown.

Media Event
Friday, April 18, 1:30 – 3 p.m.

We’ll present the outcomes of action-planning workshops from Forum 2 to media and the public. Stick around after the presentation to mingle with the project team.

Both events are free and refreshments will be provided.

For more information, call 777-7000.

How have I not heard about this??? I work in that building.

That's pretty cool though...that intersection has two parking lots on the corners. One down, one to go.

I wouldn't expect retail at all. It will be a lifeless building if it's housing generators. But it will be better than a parking lot.
