It stands for North Jackson (NOJA) street.......downtown. I ate there about a year and a half ago. It has a really good great atmosphere. The food isn't really New Orleans....but more of an ethiopian/african-european mix. I think a little cajun style was thrown in there to help it become accepted in downtown Mobile. Its great though, ya'll will have to try it.

I will be in the Port in 3 weeks i have to try it, funny how they had to throw in a little Cajun for the Port to accept it. Mobile !!! I love that place man.

In addition, American is getting close to adding a MOB-MIA flight. Also, it will be really interesting to see how the Delta / Northwest merger will affect the airport in plane types, destinations, and frequencies. I think we could see more "mainline" planes as the smaller Airbuses (A319) could easily be sold out in Mobile.

Re NoJa: I'm not seeing a lot of Cajun in the menu. We'd heard Chakli had ramped it up a little to keep up with the competition, once True opened.

I went about 6 months ago. The food was great and the interior is really cool. They also have a courtyard, but it was not good weather when we went. It was by far the coolest restaraunt I had seen in Mobile at the time. Especially when compared to like a Ruth Chris(which looks siilar to every other Ruth Chris in the country). I haven't been to True yet but I would think those two are comparable on food and atmosphere.

I think we should all get to gether some time this summer when everyone is done with school. Maybe go to the skyview bar, true, or NOJA; eat, have some drinks, and share our ideas for the Port-City with each other in person. What do yall think?
