Wasn't there something about a potential new tower on a Telus parkade site ?

You guys see all these towers in this Vancouver pic??

If my city (metro area of 215,000 people) built just ONE (JUST ONE) tower like of any of these towers you see sprawled along this whole picture in our downtown, we'd all be orgasming in the Fargo-Moorhead developments thread in the Midwest US forum.

Just to give you guys a little perspective on how mich a big deal Vancouver is.

Yeah it's still in the works, along with a few other major sites like the Bay Parkade and the Post office. These projects are still in the conceptual planning stages however and are likely a few years down the pipeline. All of these sites do have the potential for a large tower or towers though... depending on the willingness of city hall to approve it that is.

You have any rich investors in your city who wouldn't mind taking a small financial hit?? j/k. I think the market potential in my city for one of those downtown is pretty decent, it's just that no developer or civic leader around here has any pairs of testicles.

All it takes is one to open the flood gates. Calgary didn't really have any condo towers at the turn of the century, now we have 20 or 30, with another 70 or so under construction or proposed.

^I guess I missed Vid's pic of TBay but actually, that's a rather pleasant looking city. I've never spent any real time there and about the only thing I've ever seen other than whatever is within sight of the by-pass is the industrial port area (sorry, I don't know what the area is called) That was depressing but now I see that I should have given the place more of a chance. Mind you, I always assumed there was more to TBay than some run down-loooking port but without having seen it I simply filed it all under the "Meh...don't care" column.
That pic makes me want to actually visit Thunder Bay.
So there...see ? It's not so bad. lol

The industrial port area is called "the harbour" and it's the largest in land port in Canada, thankyouverymuch. If you look over the building with the white thing on top, you can barely make out the crane for phase two of Pine Crest Condos or whatever the hell it's called. See? Things do happen here!

And just behind that condo? The "entertainment district"
