this has probably been asked alot, but it'll take ages to go through all the pages to find the answer, but will it be possible to enter the oakridge and king ed stations from either side of the street or will there only be one station entrance?

There will only be one entrance for both stations. I could see a reason to put two entrances for Oakridge, but I doubt there's enough traffic for two entrances at King Edward. Not to mention that it's not possible at King Edward - being a decked station like Granville or Burrard.

However, there are provisions at Oakridge to allow a second entrance on the northwest corner of 41st and Cambie as well as an direct mall entrance. Look closely for the two knockout panels:

BTW, all of the renderings, diagrams, and information about the line and the stations are in the first page of this topic - in all of the posts.

Here just for good measures i did a quick crapy looking mock up of what you would see and the choices you would have at Waterfront, City hall, Marine and Brig house stations. There would be only three lines to choose from to get you to your destination, thes stations I mentioned would be served by all three lines.

The stations not served by all three lines would all have atleast one of these lines stoping there while also having two other lines stoping there. In total there would only be 6 lines along the entire route, BUT only the three that stop at the station your at matter. Also remember that there is no need to remember any of these lines because you can get from every station to any station on the Canada line, all you need to do is pick the one of three lines that stop at your destination station. No planing or anything required and its no different then picking between the expo line or the millennium line. Remember that all the trains stop at every station, the only difference is that they dont load/unload at every station because the other half of the train(a different line that doesnt matter to you) unloads/loads there while your half just sits there.

What if you do not board at an exchange point and only want to go one stop? For instance from Vancouver City Centre to Yaletown, or 41st to 49th-Langara?

Thanks for the diagram, that did it for me.

I like the fencing the choose. It is much nicer than standard chain-link.

At the rate they are going I would not be surprised at all if the line were to open ahead of schedule some time next summer. I can see the Premier and Minister Falcon announcing the news with great fanfare and, naturally, an accompanying hurricane of breathless press releases.

The two would proudly roll up their sleeves for the cameras to display the Province's new motto freshly tattooed on their biceps: "On budget and ahead of schedule!"

*Just look at the colour coded letter codes i posted and you see the red A, blue C, green E stoping at the stations that are shown in the diagram, look at the patterns and hopefully you will understand because im not doing a good job of explaining.

Thanks for posting!

Templeton looks like a nice station. It could have been iffy if it had a bulky overpass.

@ Oakridge - there was also mention of a possible SE corner knock-out panel - not sure if it was implemented.

@ YVR - Looks off centre:

Why are there two "City Center" and BTW the Canadian spelling is "City Centre"

Second - I've never liked the skip-stop service patterns - that is overlay complicated and confusing. If you did this, the trains would have to make all stops north of City Hall - City Centre is going to be busier than you think.

I agree, Templeton Station has a signature look to it.

As for the walkway being off-center, I think it's just the angle of photograph.

Or have half the train in the station, and then close the doors and move the next half in. It would double exit and entry time, and increase trip times, but it would also double capacity while providing a stop at each station. It may add five minutes to the total trip time.

Don't worry there won't be a need for those double trains.
If I'm proven wrong then all the better as a new line will get built then. So lets hope I'm wrong.

^And of course, you have to have the press conference at the new Waterfront Station terminus or in proximity -- since having the Fast Ferries across the Inlet as a backdrop is mandatory.
