This one will get built. The developers realize this is a one of a kind location.
Surrounded by the Arts District; this is the last available lot to build on. This will be the tallest building for blocks... with guaranteed views of Downtown forever, because they are not about to tear down the Museums and Concert halls!

The city of Dallas and the developer of this project have been fighting it out because the developer is asking for TIF money, and the same developers have been renting space out Downtown to a nightclub that has caused many security problems.

Recently a peace treaty of sorts has evolved, with above mentioned nightclub getting closed down, and public support for this project is high. The City is about to spend milliions on building Downtown parks, and this project is is within 2-3 blocks of two of them.

For these reasons I think this something will happen here, and if they get the TIF money I believe it should mean a percentage of the units will be "affordable". That's not the law...just my opinion.

And if all of that wasn't enough, it will also be directly across from the proposed Woodall Rodgers Park!!!

I love this building's design and hope we see it built. It's location in the last available site in the Arts District tells me it will happen. If I had 1M to spend on a high rise condo this is where I would buy.

This design is truly imperial. I've spent time in the Dallas Arts district-- the fine arts museum is awesome. Im from Wash D.C. where museums and arts are apart of the lifestyle. I get the same feeling there in Dallas. When the Calatrave bridges span the river and this tower is erected, Dallas will reinvent itself as a truly international city.

The glass facade is most striking - giving off a weightless affect. It's thin structure and simple pleasing design make it elegant and sexy.

This tower will begin construction in the Beginning of 2008. I was contacted by one of the sales reps for the tower and she said it was a done deal to be built in the first quarter.

That's good news. I really like this tower. However, be careful when throwing out the words "done deal." Nothing, at this stage of development, is ever a "done deal."

According to an article posted on the Museum Tower website, construction now appears to be planned for this summer. Check out the link below and read pdf article from January 2008 titled "Tower Planned for Arts District". Has anyone heard anything to the contrary since January???

Great! Surely this thing has got to be more than 560 feet. I'd say at least 600 feet. Trammel Crow Tower is 686, and it looks to be close in height to it. Love the design too. I have a feeling it'll end up being one of my favorite buildings in the state actually.

Kev, those renderings are drawn from near ground level... 560' or ~600'+, it's still a great design!!!

Great looking building, Dallas needs some more scrapers like this. There are too many damn parking lots in all of Texas's major cities. We need to cover them up pronto.

Museum Tower has been delayed, but as of March, they are still moving forward with it...

From what I have read on other boards, they are probably going to have to come down on the $1,000 per square foot asking prices. If they do, I wouldn't be surprised to see dirt moving in the near future.

Developers who have been working for more a decade to build a soaring downtown Dallas condo tower say they are moving ahead with those plans.

The 42-story Museum Tower will have more than 100 luxury residences, smack in the middle of the Arts District.

The builders reached an agreement with the Dallas Police and Fire Pension System to fund the $200 million development, partner John Sughrue said Tuesday.

Construction will start as soon as next week on what will be the largest private-sector real estate project started in Dallas in more than two years.

"We very much have confidence in the decision to go ahead and believe this is the right project at the right time for Dallas," Sughrue said. "We won't be delivering units for two and a half years.

"We think we will have the market to ourselves."
