You're correct it's the old TechBC space. It's completely changed now. There is a hallway right through the heart of the old space and unfinished stores on either side of the hall.

Dont think this one has been mentioned before:

New residental tower for #3 road and Park Rd in Richmond.
- 15 storeys + mechanical PH
- 147ft to TO of mech PH
- 95 000sf
- 3 levels of A/G parking facing the alleyway.
- F.Adab Architecture

No point in posting a rendering beucase it looks identical to every other Richmond condo ever conceived.

Unless someone really wants one...

do you know which corner of #3 and Park? It could either be the IHOP or the random 2 storey retail. The IHOP is kind of cool, in a very ironic suburban way. I hope the generic retail is going!

Costco

i hear the new costco by willingdon burnaby will open in may of this year and the existing costco on brighton in burnaby(originally the very first costco in bc) by the skytrain station near lougheed hwy will close at the end of the year

what will happen to the abandoned costco site on brighton?
redeveloped into condos perhaps similar to the way warehouses by brentwood have been converted to condos?

this would actually create quite an impact to the area considering it's mostly low rise strip malls around there. sure, post a render, i'd like to see.

Heard some murmurings that the Pitt River Bridge opening will be delayed so they can open with all 8 lanes, reserving 2 as bus lanes.

Major office development proposed in Surrey at Gateway SkyTrain Stn?

I stumbled across this on the Avison-Young commercial real estate leasing website. http://www.avisonyoung.com/Vancouver/Property_Listings/For_Lease/Office_Headlease/736/

"Phase I of this 5 phase, 600,000 sq. ft. office park is scheduled for completion in early 2010 and will represent the cutting edge in sustainable and responsible design certified to a LEED Gold standard. The varying sizes of floor plates that will be found within the business park will cater to businesses large and small offering long term growth opportunity.

"Located immediately adjacent to the Gateway SkyTrain terminal and to the existing StationTower, in the heart of Surrey’s city centre, the GatewayOffice Parkwill boast a central Lower Mainland location and transportation access that only a select few office locations in the Metro Vancouver can. The spectacular views and tranquil campus setting, complete with waterfall, solidifies Gateway Office Park has the most significant new development in the Greater Vancouver Regional District."

Very nice find. So I guess that vacant grassy area around Gateway will finally be developed.

After looking at that render again it appears as though a few new residential towers will be included as well.

No, it is all office... unfortunately the towers have been toned down a bit since that rendering, they wont be quite as tall according to the latest plans. The two towers on the right have been significantly chopped, and the closest tower has had a few floors shaved off as well and will be 2 storeys smaller than the existing office tower on the site. Still this project should inject nearly 3/4 of a million square feet of office space into central surrey over the next few years.

Having any new densified non-stripmall commercial dev. in the central Surrey area is good news I think. Office and commercial space is what really creates a downtown-like region, not just residential towers.

A step in the right direction.

That looks denser than the original Gateway Station plans, which had a big park at the centre of it - with a fountain that had a big water arc.
