There is a huge number of old Vancouver photographs here:
http://www.trolleybuses.net/van/van.htm
Granted it is just pictures of trolleys, it captures most of Downtown and a bunch of other places (just look under the Brills sections).

Some shots I took from today, March 27th, 2008.

This afternoon's rain, snow and hail storm, depending on one's local micro climate, resulted in downtown being simultaneously drenched and bathed in odd light. I happened to have my camera at the ready.

My photo, taken March 27th, 2008.

Half an hour later the skies had cleared.

The Olympic Village construction precinct from the Cambie Street Bridge.

The Dragon Boat people are out on the water, one more sure sign that spring is upon us.

A very low tide today. Habitat Island appears to have doubled in size. The daylighted stream will empty into the creek through this micro bay so there should always be some water present here in the future. For now the stream is damed and the water is being pumped into the creek on the other side of the island.

Some dark metal obelisks have been added to the south side of the mini-bay. I like the enclosure they offer. They also appear to have lighting of some sort at the top.

A closer view of the sentinals. They appear to be quite shiny and almost a dark, burnished maroon brass colour. I like them. They are my favourite element of the industrial motif of the site, public memory and all.

I noticed this on my way home tonight and snapped a picture of a nice new mural beneath the Granville Street Bridge. I like it.

ugh, imo the glass on the lower 2/3 of wall center looks the best out of any glass on a building in van. how hard would it be to reclad the top 1/3 of the building if they allowed it one day? it would make it look 100 times better.

A plane coming in to land at YVR, with a 2 second exposure time it managed to move that far across the night sky.

Not exactly a photo, but Vancouver was on South Park last night. I'm so proud.

Woah, that is the craziest thing. Just last night I was watching an old south park from '98 and they referenced Vancouver in a CFL game against Ottawa, and that surprised me a bit. Then I was thinking to myself, I wonder if they will ever actually use Vancouver in one of their episodes.

lmao....and wasn't the entire episode about Canadians craving for attention from the world?

Oh, btw BC is the most populated province.

Well, sorry to state the obvious but the episode was really about the writer's strike. They referred to the committee in charge of the strike as the WGA after all. Canada was just a way of presenting the writers' concerns as distant, unheard voices.
