Priller,

Here is the first floor plan of the Austonian. The bottom of the image is the alley, Right is 2nd St. and Left is 3rd St with the top being Congress Ave. As you can see there are two entrances. The entrance on the left goes to levels 1-8. The entrance to the right goes to Level B (Basement).

^^^ Nope... Spring is moving quickly.

It us up to about the 4th floor - drove by it last night.

We should see it rise very quickly this summer after the platform/garage is done.

Thanks for the info. Today when I walked by I saw they were working on the up ramp from Level 1. It's all clear now!

Seems strange that everyone will enter and leave through the alley. But, I guess that leaves the other 3 street sides for retail, which is good.

Not dead at all, they're going strong. Here's the last photo I posted about 2 weeks ago. They've added another floor since then.

I'm sure he got them from the city's web site. He showed me where to find them. They have site plans posted for all current construction.

As priller said I did get it from the cities website. All site plans are filed with the city and once they are Approved and Released they can be found and downloaded. You can see the drainage/utilities ect and the garage portions of the structures with elevations normally. What's not posted and pisses me off is the floor plans for each floor, but this info is neat to look at too. Austonian site plan is SP-06-0583C, it can be found by going to Development link on the home page and then Search projects.

Nobody has talked much about 360 lately. They put the glass on the top part of the spire but the bottom part is still uncompleted. What is taking so long. And I hope they finish it soon because with the top being done and the bottom not it just does not look right. Looks like a lantern on to of the building.

They're supposed to light the building next month. So it should be ready soon.

Yeah, it's been hard for me to tell what's going on with the 360. Some of the changes are subtle lately.

I call it the hypodermic needle. I assume they're keeping the bottom portion open for ventilation. I'm sure they have their reason, whatever it is.

Photos from today. First, the Austonian:

Laying down rebar on the Level 1 floor. You can see the up ramp there, too.

Another view of the ramp:

More Level 1 floor going down:

Some of those 90 workers they have on site:

The second crane:

Altavida. Some of those power lines in the way:

Lately I had been wondering when they were going to start putting up cladding or glass on this building. Today I spotted some nice fake brick:

Hard at work:

Another drive-by shooting:

The Four Seasons Residences. There seemed to be a lot of people and activity going on there. Still doing the piling work:

The hole is deeper:

Pouring concrete down this shaft:

This pier at the bottom of this photo is done:

A few random shots. They've got some greenery at the 360 pool deck:

Just two years later, JE Dunn grows local office, businessAustin Business Journal - by A.J. Mistretta ABJ Staff

Chuck Lipscomb (left) and Allan Dedman at the 360 condo tower, JE Dunn Construction’s first Austin project. Since coming to Austin in June 2006, JE Dunn has grown to 55 people.
View Larger They arrived in June 2006 with a team of six people ready to steer construction of the tallest new building on the Austin skyline.

Twenty-one months later, with the 360 Condominium project nearly complete, JE Dunn Construction Group Inc. has dramatically expanded its local office to 55 people and is fielding business in two states as it looks for new avenues and new contacts.

With six subsidiary companies fielding projects nationwide, Kansas City, Mo.-based JE Dunn is a construction industry powerhouse, ranking 21st on Engineering News Record's list of top contractors by revenue.

But Allan Dedman, vice president in charge of the Austin office, says the company has achieved the success it has over nine decades in business by concentrating on relationships.

"I think what's important for us is that we're always looking to develop the next relationship, not the next project," says Dedman.

In fact, it was a long-standing relationship with Atlanta-based Novare Group that brought JE Dunn to Austin. When Novare and Austin partner Andrews Urban began work on the 44-story 360 tower, they chose Dunn to build it.

Now the company is preparing to break ground on Novare and Andrews Urban's next project, the 37-story mixed-use tower on Block 51.

It's also working with Austin-based Endeavor Real Estate Group on the next phase of The Domain project and is building three Compass Bank branches around Central Texas.

At the same time, JE Dunn is fielding two major health care construction projects totaling more than $250 million in Louisiana from the Austin office.

The company expects to more than double the revenue from the Austin office this year, and given the backlog, is likely to more than triple it again in 2009.

Today, Dedman oversees a team of 55 and growing.

The group has grossly outgrown its 3,500-square-foot office and is looking to expand to about 7,000 square feet with the capacity to grow to roughly 14,000 square feet in time.

Constructing projects in areas from health care to hotels and condos to churches, JE Dunn likes to keep its base diverse, says Dedman. The company is consequently trying to expand into new arenas in Central Texas, including the area's booming health care industry.

"We're far from finished developing relationships in Austin," says Dedman.
