You can always get links to Emporis and usually to the official website from the front page of this thread. Emporis has construction photos of every building listed as completed or u.c. Pure was topped out in November, and it should be ready for occupancy by about June or July.

McClurg Court, The Streeter, Parkview, 600 N. LSD... are we seeing too many "two tower" developments in Streeterville? It's a kind of strange phenomenon. You can throw in the redevelopment of the CBS studios too, if it ever goes ahead. River East Center and Cityfront Center roughly fall into this category as well.

Yes. I agree and dislike it. I've voice my opinon before that I dislike the fat front facing the lake that wil be Streeter II, especially with the like 0 height difference between them. It makes no sense that the clear front of Streeter I is going to be facing a wall.

Its funny you mention this.

I've actually brought this up at neighborhood meetings. In the case of The Streeter-Streeter Place; McClurg Court Center; and the possible re-development of 630 N. McClurg, you have a tripple, double, single. 3, 2-tower projects in a row which were all designed by the same architecture firm. I don't think there's a problem with 2 tower projects, as long as the towers aren't always the same or even so similar.

^^^ I don't really get that project. The facade seems interesting, but the general massing of the tower seems contrived and falls into this "forced difference" that has been discussed time and again. The whole building seems clunky.

Then again. B is average in all senses of the word.

^ It doesn't look great (especially the west elevation ), but it would be the first office tower built here since the 1990s that tried to do something very imaginative with the facade. So I agree with you.

I see some potential here. Hopefully they can make the form more elegant. Also, hopefully there is some logic behind the wavy bands and it's not just a kind of stylization. I do like the way it creates zones of distinction in the facade.

I'm curious to see what adrian will say about that Randolf tower. I think I can guess, but I won't say since I think I am finally starting to get a hang of what makes his tastes tick.

Personally I don't mind the strange massing of that tower, I kinda like it actually, it will break up all of the perfectly massed squarish towers in that area of town.

^ Agreed on liking the fact that it's not a box. It just seems tentative at the moment. And I want to know why they're doing it.
