It turned out just fine to me. I wasn't crazy about the facade when the first few panels were being placed on, but to see it nearly covered, it looks just fine. This is what 6th needed.

Those were really nice, thank you for posting. It's amazing how much the skyline has changed in the last decade to twenty years. And to think of how much more it'll change in the near future. Just outstanding.

It's amazing. And just think, what we've seen now is nothing compared to what's coming over the next decade. Never a better time to be a skyscraper fan in New York.

Except 1925.

Possibly, relatively. But we're talking about nearly 10 Empire States being built over the next decade.

Seriously. The 7 towers below are just some of the potential towers that have been revealed.
There is still much we don't have renderings for, including the west side railyard towers, the Hotel Penn tower,
the Penn Plaza/MSG development tower,
etc. And those are just the things we know about.
When you really look at it, the BofA tower is just the appetizer...

More, more! A supertower should be next for dessert!

I'm not even sure where that would work in Manhattan. But it would probably need to be in central Midtown to look right, as far away from the waterfront as possible.

The MoMA site is the only place I could see one going in right now without completely turning the skyline on end. I suppose MSG, too...

why not downtown? Though if they fixed up the whole Penn station debacle, MSG would be a great location

The only place downtown where it could work, in my mind, is the WTC site.

I simply don't think a 'mega tall' tower would work in the city period. It's just out of character.

It's better than having one in a city in the middle of a desert.

Wasn't there going to be a +2,000 ft tower previously planned before the 9/11 attacks?

i kinda agree, a mega tall building in nyc would look a little odd because the skyline is pretty much flat

i would be all for 3 or 4 dotted north to south in midtown tho... with few filler skyscrapers

i do hope one day the ESB is lost in a midtown that is twice as tall as it

I don't think it would work well downtown because its so compact and tight.
With the expansion of the Midtown skyline west, there'll be enough balance
to center a supertower in Midtown, somewhere central like 38th street.

From the pics, and idea of what I mean...
