A new website for for The Freesia at 1082 Seymour

Hi All,

I have recently developed a new site for The Freesia at 1082 Seymour Street in Downtown Vancouver

The site has floor plans, strata minutes, and all listings both active and sold since the Freesia was completed in 2006

I'd love to hear your thoughts on www.freesiavancouver.com

A new system to monitor real estate listings

Hi All,

I have a listing notification system on my website that allows you to see all MLS listings 36-72 hours before they hit MLS.ca and see how much listings sell for when they sell.

To access the system go to www.mikestewart.ca or www.freesiavancouver.com and click on the orange box. Follow the instructions and wait for the login email.

The login email will have a link to a series of search criteria. Set your search criteria and then click "count listings" to see how many results there are. This is done so that you don't wind up with zero results from setting too tight a search.

Once you have results, click "save". By clicking save you will have set the system to automatically keep you up to date with what happens to all the listings that match your search criteria.

When new listings hit the market you will be notified 36-72 hours before they hit MLS.ca and you will find out how much they sold for when they sell.

This system has a mash up with Google Maps so you can map the property of interest and it tells you when listings are off the market or back on the market.

If you have any questions call me at 604-763-3136 or email me

Thanks,

Mike Stewart

401 West Georgia - I had heard about this over a year ago. I guess it just took some time. I believe Accenture occupies at least 5 or 6 floors.

After a series of disappointing news items in regard to development in the DTES and Gastown (i.e. the currently unnocupied Rainier Hotel at Carrall/Cordova is to be used for social housing) we finally have some potential good news.

I noticed a development permit at 18 West Hastings (I think this is also called the "Burns Block" building?) at Hastings and Carrall. It doesn't get much more "DTES" than this location, so if they can get this off the ground and sold it will be a very positive development.

If they don't improve/change things quickly, the new Carrall Street Greenway south of Cordova is going to consist of nothing else apart from meth clinics, welfare level social housing (Pensylvania Hotel, Rainier Hotel, etc), Pidgeon Park, drug dealers and crack addicts.

18 W. Hastings I beleive is the Macdonald Development, they are hoping for 40 storyies but I don't think that'll happen, I beleive the Concord Pacific development is more mid-block, but also on the same side. It's interesting in that the Concord property will probably be developed first yet we haven't heard any details yet.

I hope the cynics don't come up with a term that links the new greenway to the crack trade. That would scare off cyclists from this otherwise terrific project.

Is that the old BC Electric building? i.e. the parking lot behind it?

There are many permit application facing the dilapidated buildings of DTES such as the one located right on Pigeon Park that has been there for years, as for 18 west Hasting I will probably die twice and get resurrected three times before it gets off the grounds, with the city lacking vision for DTES except to have multiple SRO'S there remains very little hope to see any thing soon to come to fruition, IE: 162 Carrall still in the air after 4 years for city bureaucracy, The old building at Pigeon park N/A, the lot east of Army and Navy on Cordova was purchased but no development scheduled, the greenbelt went south in construction because the city failed to get moving on redevelopment of Carrall north of Pender, until they get their — in gear and get the damn project a go, well it will stay a HO and crack head haven.
Chinatown would just love to have a Berlin style wall being build to keep them from amalgamation with Gastown trough hasting corridor and if it would hide the problem and the city had funds it would pay for it.

I have been living in Gastown for 5 years and I am still waiting for the F&)*&&(*ing city to get its act together, they seemed to only want to have multiple SROS and nothing else, I received the greenbelt proposal three years ago / according to plan they were to proceed north on Carrall from Keifer, now they are going south, I lost hope it will ever get done.

Bet you they used the window washing swingstage cranes I built to change those signs. Kind of cool to know those things are up there and I built them.

How much does something like that cost? $50K?

Just curious.

Looks like Chandler is in trouble again:

Two more housing developments in Metro Vancouver placed in receivership
Thursday, February 28 - 05:50:00 AM

John Streit/Evan Kelly

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - There is more trouble with condo pre-sales this morning. According to the CBC, two more housing developments in Metro Vancouver have been placed in receivership.

Just last weekend the Eden Group backed out of their development, The Sophia. Now the Chandler Group's H&H project in Yaletown and Garden City project in Richmond have run into cost overruns.

While the fate of the Sophia remains uncertain, the receiver says Chandler's projects will be completed.

haha... yeah i'm loving those destructo plaza of nations pics. there's something so ragged and raw about them that you don't get much of a chance to see in the city, unless you have the misfortune of living in baghdad or something.

I'm a bit off put by the orange here. I've walked by the building a few times and just been thinking "what?". Especially that particular tone of orange, the halloweenish play between it and the black aspects of the rest of the structure.

We need to change it up in Vancouver. I'm down with the orange. I'm sure it would look alot better in full sunlight as well.
