L.A. Live's my favorite, without question; not only in style, but in the speed it's taking to build it. I mean, look at my previous post; the hotel is already growing.

^ But you didn't. Learn how to take pictures.

Has anyone heard anything about Park Tower? I seriously hope that thing gets built. It has probably the most striking design in DT. No one likes the 60's style cross sections but I do.

But of course we believe you. Why should you have to lie about such a thing? BTW, how did you get down here, drive or public transit?

Glad you enjoyed my neighborhood, camera mishaps notwithstanding...

I don't mind admitting that I went there with my dad. I figure I don't desperately need to drive due to my circumstances, so I usually take public transportation. It's cheaper that way!

And on the subject of favorite projects for downtown LA, mine still remains wavy goodness of 8th+Grand. Or that is my favorite project until we get a better/bigger render of Mayne's Herald Examiner proposal (my favorite EXISTING downtown building is cal trans by far)

^ Using public transit is great. For those coming from outside of DT proper, I think it's even better for doing sightseeing than driving (as long as you don't mind walking) since you don't have to constantly worry about where to park the car and how much it costs to do so.

I really enjoy walking all over downtown, personally. Especially since I can leave the car at home and not even worry about public transit. Walk out the front door and there I am!

I never take my car to downtown, Hollywood or Koreatown. Now if I could only say the same about Melrose, SaMo, WeHo, Echo Park, Silverlake, venice, the Valley, westwood...*sigh*

I take the Metrolink when I come to downtown as I live in Riverside. When the train winds through Anaheim Canyon and you see the 241 Toll Road wayyyyy off in the distance, as well as lush trees, the Santa Ana River, and some nice suburbia splattered about, it really makes for a nice journey. Well, until you pass through Montebello and Commerce and Norwalk where it is nothing but shitty houses, industry, and graffiti.

8th and Grand also remains my most anticipated project. God I hope that happens! Has there been any notable developments on the project that suggest its a reality?! I havent been paying attention to it for the past year.

Aside from that mindfuck about two years ago, where the lot was closed for parking for about a month (resulting in everyone here to orgasm glorious colors at the exact same time), only to find out that the reason the lot was closed was because it was getting repaved, nothing.

8th+Grand is one of my favorites too. I hope it happens eventually. Now that funky 60's style Park Tower on the other hand...

Hate to burst your guys' bubble, but I wouldn't count on those breaking ground anytime soon. The Ritz, 717 Ninth, and Concerto will just have to hold us over for the time being.
