One last photo that might provide some sense of how tall 301 and 555 Mission are getting. This is a shot from out my windshield as I waited on the ramp down to the Embarcadero from 280 (near AT&T Park and UCSF Mission Bay). It is from this morning's commute.

I tried to count floors in one of the full length pictures and got 60. I think it's done except for the crown--or maybe the roof of the top floor and the crown. But judging from the renderings, the crown will have some height to it--equal to a couple of floors.

Those are fantastic! Thanks for fulfilling my request, JAC6. I think it was well worth it.

according to webcor they will have to swap out cranes before they build the steel framed crown.. so we still have a lot of action to go.

Here are a few pictures of the low rise portion of 301 Mission from the walk into work this morning.

Almost there:

Someone must know what this L shaped dingus is on the side here:

Girders on the way up:

Fins have appeared on the mid rise; I wonder when the first glass will show up?

Nice pictures of several of these SF projects in several threads, particularly given the weather on Saturday.

Just peeking out. I presume this is the highest that the core will go.

Here we see them removing a big piece of the bracing. Normally they slide this out and pull it up to the next story to be build; but today they lowered it to the ground as this series shows. I presume therefore that there aren't any more floors yet to come save one, at the most.

If I had looked out the window and seen you taking pictures of the form being lowered, I would have come out and said hello. It looks like you were standing right below me.

That's a good spot from which to view the building.

Can anyone tell if those verticals at the top of the building in Dave's last photo are rebar--in which case there's likely one more floor to go--or structural steel--in which case they are probably part of the crown?

It is rebar. That's why I think there might be one more floor. There are still enough forms up there for that last one.

Yes, if I'm not mistaken, it looks like there is one more floor slab at level 61 to go. At 635 feet, this will be about 10 feet below the top of the crown. Some of the tallest rebar at the permeter columns look like they are reaching nearly the very top already. The varied rebar column heights hint of the final sloping lines of the roof crown.

Millennium Tower's "topping-off" celebration is this Friday (2/8). It now rises 645 feet into the sky (which makes it...the tallest residential building west of the Mississippi).

And, since we've had inside shots of ORH, may as well post some of The Millenium (also from Socketsite):

"The Residences" (lower, cheaper floors)

"The Grand Residences" (upper, pricier floors)

"The City Residences" (Midrise)

Looking at these and those from ORH, I'm getting a 70s's time-warp feeling with all that "wood-grain" something on the cabinetry.
